Pet peeves in albums or songs

What are some little things about recorded music that you don't care for? The sorta stuff that annoys you about otherwise good records or songs? Some of mine are...
Songs that fade back in after fading-out.
A track bleeds into the next track for a second or two, meaning you can't listen to the next track on its own without hearing a snippet of the previous song.
Unnecessary gimmicks at the beginning or end of a tune. "War Pigs" by Black Sabbath is a great song, but they kill the mood by going into that goofy, sped-up riff at the very end.
Piss-poor transitions, usually found in metal, where one riff just falls out of the sky on top of the previous one without any attempt at a smooth turnaround.
Songs that fade back in after fading-out.

This is more of an artist idiosyncracy, but I along with many others couldn't stand Michael Jackson's heehees.
Gratuitous stereo panning also gets on my nerves, e.g. they did this to the guitar on "The Yes Album" in a couple of songs.
Intrusive audience noise in live recordings really grinds my gears. If you woohooed during a quietish moment, you should have been expelled.

Star Sign is probably my favorite Teenage Fanclub song, but the version I have has a 1 minute intro of terribleness. Long unnecessary intros.
Not a huge fan of guitar solos in general, but I am really annoyed by those that seam to have zero in common with the rest of the song.

Easy answer for me: skits that are scattered throughout rap albums. This was big in the 90's but still shows up from time to time today. Completely takes me out of the flow of the album every time.

Indeed. Korn were major offenders here. This gimmick brings down the otherwise stellar Stone Temple Pilots record "Purple," too.

I don't like unnecessary intros. Songs where you have to sit around and wait through a sometimes non-musical sound collage or some other bullshite before the actual song kicks in. Examples:
1. Underwater tapping and sound effects at the beginning of "Radio Free Europe". The three snare strikes are where it should begin.
2. The moody crap at the beginning of "Once" by Pearl Jam.
3. The synth washes at the beginning of "Jet Airliner" by Steve Miller.
4. The kids singing at the beginning of "You Can't Always Get What You Want" by the Stones.
etc.

I'm not a big fan of the harsh/clean/harsh vocal style used by a lot of the newer metal bands.

Just 80’s snare drums in general. I just hate that booming snare that dominates the mix. I greatly prefer the snappy snares of the 70’s, 90’s, and 2000’s.
When the mix makes the bass guitar almost inaudible
The chorus effect placed on 80’s harmony vocals. It makes them sound fake. Vocal harmonies from the 70’s don’t sound like that, they sound like actual voices.
Synthesized fake horns in lieu of a real horn section.
Country covers of rock songs.
Rap and hip/hop tracks that sample the hook from a popular rock song.
Metal pig squeals, guttural screams, and constant screams to the point that the lyrics are effectively undistinguishable. Screams should be used sparingly for emphasis. When everything is screamed, the scream has no emphasis and loses all of its power.

There's an example of this on Alice in Chains' "Dirt" record. I believe the track is "Rain When I Die." I know that album's a masterpiece, but I'm not a fan of that gimmick.

That The Stranger isn't track 1 on The Stranger.
The Stranger song begins with whistling and the last track of the album ends with the same whistling.
If that whistling started and ended the album it would have been nice continuity.
