What is your favorite travel bag, suitcase, or accessory?

I'm looking for gift ideas for a traveler. I've bought plenty of suitcases and bags and most don't hold up well. What would you get as a gift for a traveler or what is a gift that you would enjoy receiving?

For something super simple and cheap that I really love is this "Flight Flap", basically a malleable foam piece that lets you watch your phone easily on a plane. Don't have to hold it and don't have to worry about the tray able up or down

A great travel bag that I never knew I needed until I had it is this away travel "the everywhere bag". Slides over your carryon and is great for us men as a "personal item" since the women get away with bringing on giant purses stuffed full. Really allows you to travel with more without checking a bag.

If price is not an object and the traveler doesn't need a wheeled suitcase, then a Tom Bihn bag is a pretty sweet gift. The Aeronaut, or a Synik backpack, will set you back around $300 but will last for decades.
if a wheelie bag is necessary, I'm a fan of Travelpro. Sturdy, ultralight, and with just enough pockets to be useful.
My current long-haul travel combo is a Tom Bihn backpack plus a Travelpro wheelie.
I hauled a set of Tumi bags around the world for about 10 years until it died of exhaustion, but Samsonite bought the brand and I don't find the new stuff nearly as well made as the OG cases were.
In the less expensive category, most travelers can always use another battery power bank, more packing cubes, a really good umbrella that folds small but opens up big, a decent travel pillow. A large cashmere scarf/wrap that doubles as a plane blanket, a set of high-end travel sized toiletries (like Aesop or Molton Brown), a travel journal with a nice pen, a packable truly waterproof seam-sealed raincoat.......
If the traveler is a reader, consider an iPad mini or Kindle Paperwhite, plus an Amazon gift card so they can buy travel guides or books related to their destinations.

Packing cubes are awesome. I’ll never pack without them after using them.

I bought my first Tumi bag about 10 years ago. Still holds up with no issues. Have about 5 or 6 now with various sizes. They are expensive, but worth it as I’ve never had to replace one.

Osprey Transporter. They have a lifetime warranty as well. I like the large rugged wheels and I drag that thing through snow, ice, sand, gravel, etc and have never had any issues with it.

For work travel, my Timbuk2 backpack has been amazing.

RE: packing cubes, Tom Bihn sells one that doubles as a crossbody/shoulder day bag. It is a nice small piece.
Also a dirty laundry stuff sack is a great thing to have, esp if the gift recipient goes on long trips. Nothing like having to mix your dirty and clean clothes knowing you will be on the road for XX more days. I like to segregate the "needs to be washed" from the "can wear again" and the "fresh/clean", and packing cubes + a more water/dirtproof laundry bag make this easy.

Someone once gave me a small packing cube and inside of it was an external phone charging bank, an extra iphone cord and charging box.
Now, when I travel I don't ever have to take my chargers from home I jhust grab the small cube and it has everything I need and I can add other charging cables too if needed (my watch, gopro, etc)

Taken the "Ebags TLS Mother Lode Mini 21" Wheeled Duffel" on 3 trips to Europe and it works just fine. Not as expensive as a Tumi or other high end brands. Various colors.

Packing cubes. When my wife purchased I rolled my eyes - thinking it was her just spending money to spend money, but it’s been well worth it. If we’re gone for 3+ days we won’t leave without them.

It’s a decent price, and the Sky Pro is lighter weight similar to the Maxlite line of Travelpro luggage. Just know that 25” is too large to use as a carry on, so this set means that the recipient will have to check a bag. I prefer traveling with two carry on size pieces.

I have Travelpro, Zero Halliburton, and Tumi rolling bags. But the best, most versatile bag I have and use all the time is this Clava leather duffle.
I find myself on a lot of regional airplanes and it fits in all the bins no matter how stuffed the bag is, so you never have to wait on valet bags. Plus it fits under the seat of the bins are full.
I’ve taken this bag around the world in 10 years and it is still holding up like the first day. The best gift I’ve ever received. Always get compliments on it.

Noise canceling headset if they don’t have one. On my 4th Set of Bose. When they get older they retire to riding lawnmower duty and I buy another set.

I like that. I just ordered it and even found a coupon code BLKFRI20 for 30%off plus free shipping. Saved me $88.50. Thanks! I think they'll be happy
