In interview with OTB, when TBob pressed him, through the bad cell Coach O can be heard challenging the fan base. He says (paraphrase) we won the national championship last year, and we are struggling this year. We’ll find out who’s with us and who really supports the Tigers. I’m not going where you’re trying to go.
I have 2 serious issues with this statement!
1. Your roster is jumping off the ship at a far faster rate than the fan base. All you have done is coddle and make excuses for their losing quitter attitudes and behaviors, yet you have the audacity to bite back at those who support you when they question an obvious issue within this program.
2. Questioning and challenging someone is NOT failing to support. In fact, the best sign that someone gives a damn about you is when they are willing to challenge you!

Man suck it up O. You want to stop the bleeding??? Stand up and lead! Challenge the team to decide if they are in or out. If they are out- see ya. If they are in- let’s effing ride

Seems like it could be argued that it’s a message to the program in general.

Orgeron can kiss my whole arse.

If I want him fired that means I'm not a fan or alum? bullshite. I just want a head coach with a triple digit IQ.

Bold strategy, Cotton. This ain’t exactly Nick Saban calling out Bama fans for not showing up to games.

I'd have more respect for O if he called players out for taking plays off/being soft. But he knows he has to keep them. He doesn't have the power anymore.

When you make millions, fans have every right to ask what have you done for me lately.

He said he is in a bubble where he doesn’t hear the outside noise. He is seeing opt outs in the bubble.

This is a sinking ship....

This really tells us a lot about Orgeron's mindset, and seems to confirm the stories that when he is questioned by the AD, he says, "I hear you, but I won a National Championship last year doing it my way!"
He seems to not realize that he has lost control of the program and it is circling the drain.
UNless someone (Woodward) intervenes forcefully the damage now being done will last for years.

He doesn't realize this statement is dripping with irony. I'm in the latter group.

I honestly hated Coach O when we hired him. Thought he was the easy out and a snake oil salesman.

Then 2019 happened. My feelings started to ease and I felt like he did a wonderful job putting together the greatest CFB season of all time.

Now, seeing what has transpired this season, I'm back to hating him. The more I see this shite storm, the more I think 2019 was just dumb fricking luck and we managed to win a Natty DESPITE O and not because of O. Last year proved one thing, it doesn't take much to be successful at LSU. Imagine what we could do with a legit HC running the show?

O will not retire from LSU. Whether its now, in a year, or in 8 years, he will be fired.

Thats the only way this ends.

Which means we will all be here with this program LONG after O is talking shite about it in some bar somewhere.

The product on the field, on both sides of the ball, is horrid.

Our defense doesn't exist, and our offense is back to looking like a Les Miles offense.

That combination is not fun to watch. At all.

Luckily COVID is shielding us from having an empty stadium ever weekend. This just isn't a fun team to watch.

I think that bubble is preventing him from seeing the game plan as well. He is a lying sack of shite. I have been to a few gridiron lunches this year. He is really good at the good ole boy telling people what they want to hear and make them feel better.

There is a huge difference in telling people what you are going to do and actually doing it. Just from what I have seen him say and what actually happens on the field he is 100% in over his head.

I really believe the team last year won in spite of him and not because of him. Burrow ran that team like he was the coach and had a huge locker room presence. He was more than just a great QB he was the best leader we have ever had at LSU.

A person who runs a business has to have faith in your downstream managers to run the day to day operations. They also have to have faith in you as a leader to steer the business in the write direction. It's no different in running a sports team the size of LSU. The downstream managers do not have any faith in O.

The vast majority of fans, players, and administration have lost faith in the leadership. It's time for him to go. Its sad but true.

Sorry O, I'm an LSU fan - not a fan of whoever happens to be the coach this year. I didn't get my degrees from Orgeron State University.

Granted, most of us aren't privy to what's going on behind the scenes, but on the surface all that is happening this year looks devastating. And you aren't really doing much to make us feel better about it.

He was talking about the team, not the fan base.

You filled in what you wanted when his phone cut out.

I typically back coaches and generally try to look at the long game with CFB.

However, if the rumors of possibly 5+ underclassmen not only opting out, but transferring is true, we have some big problems that need to be fixed ASAP. It’s unprecedented.

The fact that we won the championship last year actually compounds this problem. These are the better days ahead, it shouldn’t be a better time to be at LSU.

This is a weird year, lots of excuses can be made that are valid. The team performance could even be forgiven. However if the coach can’t keep his team together, it might be time to look elsewhere.
