Sure I get that SEAL Team Six and Delta Force are badass and the cream of the crop amongst the special forces units of the US military but it's still a government salary that would not qualify as a side gig for an OT baller and there's no way he makes that much that can justify buying a new truck that often.

Eh, silly thing to be upset about.

Operators make a shite ton of money, lots of different incentive pays on top of normal soldier pay for their certifications. Dive Pay, Halo Jump Cerified Pay.

Hazardous duty pay, combat zone tax exclusion pay, tax free signing bonuses when reupping in a deployed location.

I remember in the original Back to the Future, the California raisin commission spent a lot of money getting product placement but I believe the scene was cut. It was in the park and a bum was sleeping on a park bench. The California Raisins sign was on the back of the bench. They cut the close up.

Return Of The Killer Tomatoes did it first in the mid-80s.

They “ran out of money” partway through the film, broke the fourth wall, then started doing blatant product placement to get the film finished, like hocking Heineken.

Actually the Marx Bros did it in their last film together, Love Happy (1949). The producer ran out of money, so to salvage the film a new climax was written to have Harpo run around a rooftop being chased by gangsters, while various signs in the background advertise products the producer was able to sell space to.

The sequence is actually fairly inventive, and the bit with the Mobil horse is certainly a memorable image.

Love Happy climax

I love how all the labels were turned towards the camera.

People can debate about turning things in fridge, but nothing is obvious to me than Ashton Kutchers the Ranch show on Netflix with their alcohol. They literally turn the label towards the camera after taking a drink to make sure it's in the shot

Captain America and Black Widow driving to New Jersey in a brand new Chevy Silverado with pretty good trim.

That whole movie (The Winter Soldier) was a Chevrolet ad. Natasha drove a Corvette in the beginning. Nick Fury drove a Tahoe in his big chase. The police chase involved Chevy Impala cruisers. The truck they stole. Sam drove the brand new Chevy Impala as well.

Back to the Future II seemed to have a ton of product placement and ads. Pepsi, AT&T, Pizza Hut, Texaco, Nike, etc.
