For me it’s McAllister’s. Not even close. The Memphis sandwich with a strawberry sweet tea. Service can be spotty. Just a matter of where you are.

I must have gone on off days because the 2-3 times I ate at McAllister’s or sucked arse.
I do like Newk’s.

I thought McAllisters had a half decent club sandwich but we don't have them in BR anymore. I've never been to Newks but we do have one.

For some weird reason the one by me has stopped serving anything with beef in it..which is all of the sandwiches I actually enjoy. Also newks Q and the grilled sandwich are excellent. So newks and it isn't close

I don't understand how either of these places stay in business.

McAllister's fricking sucks compared to Newk's. Sorry for the bluntness, but it's not anywhere close. I have no idea how they are owned by the same people.

Newks is easy and has a big menu and does most of it reasonably well
It's a pretty solid niche.

I like McAlisters. I e Yet to have a sandwich is really liked at Newks but the McAlisters club is dope.

Both founded in Oxford. I don't like Newk's. Same bread, salads I don't eat. Less selection at Newk's. I will say there sandwiches and sides at McAllister's I would never order.

I used to eat that about once per month at the Perkins location. Roux 61 has a better one though if you don't mind paying $15.

Honestly I just Like the honey mustard.
The rest is just a club but their honey mustard is real good

I used to like the Newk's on Chimes St. right off campus but it is closed. We were going to go there before the Miss. St. game and found that the building was for lease.

That sucks. Good Bird (the sandwich/wrap/salad shop from NOLA that’s right there on W Chimes) was closed for months, but IG shows they’ve opened back up.
I wouldn’t be surprised if places like Newks, Jason’s Deli, McAllisters fade out in time. I have no basis for saying that, though. Just a feeling.
