They owe me something. I pay a fortune to TAF to watch the whole team play not half of them

I dont owe college athlete anything either so we are even.

I'm an LSU fan not a Marshall fan or Chase fan or Brennan fan.

My Fandom is for LSU, period.

So to say fans owe anything to players is asinine. Sorry its harsh but true.

“College athletes owe us nothing,” - no shite.

This is one of the dumbest things I see repeated over and over on TD, year after year.

Of course they owe me nothing. I don’t even know them. I don’t owe you anything either. So what? Does that invalidate anyone’s opinion on quitting on your team? No.

My opinion is that players should finish the season that they start. I think it is morally wrong to quit. Now some people might think money is more important, and that’s okay. But I will never agree with them.

And I say this knowing fully that Terrace Marshall does not know me or care what I think or “owe” me anything. He’s still wrong.

You're really upset Terrace Marshall doesn't wanna risk millions of dollars to play for free on a team that sucks?

You realize with this mindset every single projected 1st rounder should quit their team as soon as they're eliminated from postseason play.

And yet somehow, that doesn't happen anywhere as much as it does here. fricking weird right?

And this is the sad sack attitude that’s taken us from 4 year players who are a part of their community and loved the rest of their lives to guys who leave early then go bankrupt within 5-10 years. You retards will never understand real life decisions and consequences.

I support Terrace Marshall's right to exit a football team that plays like shite.

Thank you.

You’re right that he doesn’t owe us anything. But his peers do it all the time. You are judged by your competition.

Is it okay to appreciate and respect all the athletes that don’t quit and keep playing over the few that do quit?

I don't wish any ill will on him at all but the timing is weird. We're 3/4 of the way through the season, he speaks to his team as being a leader and the next week he bounces? I don't understand that.

I expected him to leave early but not when there are 3 games left. There's nothing selfish on my part about it.

I honestly think there are some other factors that contributed to his decision. Stuff behind the scenes.

I don't think he's scared of playing Alabama, Florida, Ole Miss, crap, he played them last year.

It's like there are other things that made him make this decision. Has O lost the team? Does he not trust O? Who knows but I don't think it's simply preserving himself for the NFL. If that were the case, he would've opted out before the season started, like Chase did. The timing is just weird. That's what bothers me the most.

There seems to be a major disconnect with a majority of the players and the coaches.

This is so true. I dont know where is a perfect spot to draw the line when it comes to random grown adults putting their personal pride into a teenage/twenties ball game outcome, but some people need a serious reality check.

Brother Terrace can start protecting his future the next day after the season ends!!!

You don't walk out on your team right before playing Bama, Florida and Politically Correct Massa Wife.

That shows what's he's made of.

If I'm an NFL GM or HC, there's no way I want a quitter on my team. Let somebody else draft him. He's not playing for me.

All the Moronic Pump Worshippers that are defending him (And all the others of his Ilk) have never played a down of organized football and are ignorant of the "Team" concept in sports.

I for one have had about enough of this "NFL-LSU 3 years and Out" BS.

Get somebody in here that's going to promote and develop the program to the maximun benefit of the LSU FOOTBALL PROGRAM winning SEC & National Championships. (Like the HC's of the Top 2 consistently dominant college football programs are doing) The NFL will take care of itself at the end of 4 years, but that should not be the selling point to recruits.....

You really think opting out in the middle of the season is going to make him money?

Terrace Marshall doesn't owe you anything

Correct

Yeah, it sucks as a fan, but it is very selfish of you if you are angry about someone trying to protect their future, especially when the team isn't even .500.

Quitting in the middle of a season is a bad look no matter the reason. Hopefully he goes on to have a great career but when LSU needed him most he quit.

And we owe colleges nothing. But, when I donate thousands a year on top of buying tickets, I expect to see a good product on the field. TM was offered and received a scholarship with the intent of him completing his degree while contributing to the team for the duration. He failed to honor his side of the deal. Call it business decision all you want, the kid is a quitter. Coach O created a culture that allows that type of selfishness.

Does TM owe me? No. But, LSU admin owes me the best effort to produce a good product. They have failed.

I disagree, but perhaps you are right. Then it follows that we owe them nothing either.

At what point is it acceptable to make that business decision?

One game?
Three?
Twelve?

If you accept losing them early then you accept having a bad team because a good team has good players.
As fans, why would we want to lose our best players before it’s time?

I want to be mad that somebody quit on their team. But then I think about athletes who come from impoverished childhood‘s who were just months away from making millions of dollars. And lost it all to injury.

How can I be angry at one of them for wanting to avoid the risk when it’s clear we are no longer competing for a bowl game or a championship this year

TM Gave us everything he had last year and delivered a national championship. I’ll be grateful for his service to this University

Remember when everyone was outraged because Fournette didn't play in a bowl game? It seems like that was Pandora's box opening the floodgates.
