Time for LA to step up and make it 6 lanes all the way to Lafayette

Making it 6 lanes to BR is a pipedream that will never happen

Idk if you've heard but we are a little busy winning the war against covid and flattening the curve over here in LA. We'll get to tending to our roads real soon don't worry.

It’s more likely it becomes 6 lanes from Houston to L.A.

It'll never be finished in time

Seriously that stretch in TX has been in construction going on at least 20 years

Orange TX area interstate construction has been going on for like 30 years. God bless those folks.

All the barriers between the Sabine and Winnie make me feel like I’m Ayrton Senna though.

Only took 30 years

Would take Louisiana 100 years to 6 lane it to BR

There was a ground breaking last week to 6 lane from the state line through Vinton. It is already 6 lanes from east of Vinton to 210 in LC. The big hurdle is building a new bridge in LC. 10 is 6 lanes again east of LC to the Jeff Davis Parish line.

Louisiana and Texas both seem to love building roads.

By my observation, though, Texas is the only one interested in actually finishing them.

About time. I moved to Texas in 1998 and there’s always been construction there.

Alabama has been making I20/59 six lanes between Tuscaloosa and Birmingham (about 33 miles of the primary project) and it's been ongoing for 25 years.

How long did it initially take to build the Interstate highway system?

If you don’t mind, we’re gonna do a 20 year study in Louisiana to see if expanding the interstate makes sense. Ok. Thanks.

Too much industry right on the interstate they'd have to pay millions to move in Lake Charles, Westlake, and Sulphur. Conoco in Westlake alone would kill this

They haven't mastered driving on four lanes yet and you want to give them two more?

All interstates should be 6 lanes with the big rigs only allowed to use the 2 right lanes. I75 from Atlanta to Tampa is like this...works great.

Sweet! 5 lanes for Louisianans while all the Texans sit in the left lane. And the Texans are paying for it! Take note Texans when you build your wall
