Once I spent about 400 when the car wouldn't start. Not even sure what was fixed.

$500 on a Jeep a/c condenser replacement and $1.2K on an engine replacement on an 04 Explorer. I've done everything else myself.

I’ve been riding around for awhile with no air conditioning in SE Louisiana, so not much.

$1900 for a starter, new battery, alternator, and ac repair. KBB value of my 2001 Hyundai Sonata at the time was only worth $850... Second most was $1200 for my old Scion tC for alternator, and every fluid drain and change on the list... third place was $750 for a full set of continental tires for my current ride. Car repairs suck but are a necessary evil, and if you’ve ever dealt with no ac in the summer any amount of money is worth fixing that.

$1800 on a 370z clutch/flywheel replacement.

When I had my Boxster it averaged about $1500k/yr in basic maintenance. The final straw came when I took it in for a check engine light and the dealer gave me a laundry list of repairs totaling $8700.

Once I had to spend $1100 on the water pump replacement on a 2002 Chrysler Sebring. The water pump was located INSIDE the crankcase so the entire engine had to be opened up. It was a huge design flaw on 02-06 Chrysler V6’s.
Never ever make that mistake again. Honda Accords ever since.

Personally, about $1800 for a transmission. I almost bought a v12 Mercedes with a bad AC evaporator until a mechanic with the dealership said it was 24 hours book time to replace it and over 5k....the engine had to be removed to access it.
I’m sure someone will be along shortly whose wife put gas in a new diesel truck.

I just spent close to $1000. It’s manageable.

I had no A/C in my car for about 5 years in South Florida. Don't know how I did it.

Something like $3600 to replace coilpacks and sparkplugs.

I spent 1700 on a Tacoma for something that didn’t even effect the ability of the truck to run. I just fixed it so the engine light would turn off.
