Wow, thanks for the input folks.
I'm going to buy most of these ingredients and try about three of these recipes this weekend (not the one with six beers).
Trout- will try yours for sure.
Planning on making up some for our Thanksgiving gathering.
Thanks again.

I'm a big fan of a Tommy's Margarita:
Ingredients
2 oz 100% agave blanco tequila
1 oz Lime juice
1/2 oz Agave nectar
Garnish: Salt rim
Steps
Prepare a rocks glass with a salt rim.
Put all of the ingredients into a shaker with ice and shake.
Fine-strain over ice into a rocks glass.

I usually make two for me and the misses
6oz Tequila
2oz lemon juice
2oz lime juice
2oz triple sec or Cointreau
1oz or less of simple syrup or agave nectar, I’ve actually switched this out for some different sweet tasting sparkling waters to drop some sweetness and orange seems to work usually a little more than 1oz if you go that route

This is what I make at home and I love them. I just use agave nectar though instead of honey water.

2 oz good tequila
1 oz Grand Marnier (there’s a reason bars use this to elevate their margaritas above their house version)
Juice of 1 lime
Juice of 1/2 a lemon
1/2 oz of agave nectar
A cocktail snob would say that cocktails with citrus as an ingredient must be shaken, not stirred because it helps offset the acidity, imparts the right amount of water that alters the character, and helps chill the cocktail so that ice added after the pour will last longer and be less likely to dilute the margarita... but I honestly can’t tell the difference. Sometimes I feel like shaking, but when feeling lazy, I stir.
So when shaking, add ice to shaker and shake until you feel frost developing on the outside of your Boston shaker. Filter out the shaken ice as you pour into your glass, then add fresh ice to the poured cocktail.

not a huge fan of monkfruit or stevia. dont care for the odd aftertaste.
i like erythritol when i'm baking or needing something that acts more like real sugar but for margs, the sprite zero is pretty fantastic and i honestly have gotten used to the how less sweet these are and can't handle restaurant-syrup margs anymore

How big of a difference does brown vs silver make?

Gotta be careful with those though, because they will sneak up on you
Cointreau is too orange tasting for my wife and her sisters.
Do any of you remember when you were a kid and picked honeysuckle flowers? There was that one small drop after you pulled out the stamen? What a unique flavor.
Shake it with ice until it is frosted on the outside. Put into a cooler filled with ice with fresh limes to make the sea salt stick. Transport to the beach. Teach the grandchildren how to fry a corn tortilla in lard.
