Burrow madecour oline look better than what they were also how many times did our rb have to juke or do a spin move in the back field

Let this set in our ribs averaged 1.4 yds a carry against Auburn

Cush is a starting center in the NFL and called out all blitz protections
Magee was a Sr that was pancaking people plus you got Ingram back
Lewis was so steady at the other G
Charles was a monster when eligible which was for the biggest games
Deculus was probably the weakest link and is reason he probably didn't declare either

Well I mean, we did have one of the best offenses in the history of college football last year. If our o-line sucked, there is no way that would have happened.

Go rewatch every game from last year and you'll see Joe standing tall in the pocket with excellent protection dropping dimes

Usually that's why you win an award though.

Sure, he made them look elite, but that was a very good offensive line. They are already showing why in the NFL.

If I say that line was great and you say they were bad, I'm much closer to the truth than you are.

I mean.... They won the award for the best O-Line in college football... They may not have been the BEST, like how Grant wasn't the nation's top DB last year, but they definitely were at least GOOD.

The Joe Moore award is trash. They gave it to Bama in 2015 and it was one of their worst O-lines of the Saban era. They gave it to Oklahoma in 2018 and they were trash as well.

LSUs line last year was mediocre in pass pro, but Joe was so athletic and special it didn't matter.

I wouldn't put any stock in the Joe Moore award it rarely ever goes to the best O-line.

Okay.

Our O-Line was excellent last year.

The O-Line was so excellent that they were recognized as the best in the nation with the Joe Moore Award.

The Joe Moore Award is awarded annually to the best collegiate football O-Line unit.

They were good...but certainly not great. Like you said, Burrow and CEH made them look SO much better. The advanced metrics had them as the 30th best group in the nation.

LINK

It got to the point late in the season where teams decided to just rush 3 because Burrow was killing them when they decided to bring more and leave the WR's one-on-one. Somehow Burrow was a BETTER QB under pressure than not. If your 5 can't block 3, then you are in trouble.

We saw in the NC game Clemson overwhelm the LSU OL (early). The running game was non-existent and Burrow was often scrambling or taking hits. So again, the group wasn't terrible by any means. But a QB and RB who are unbelievably capable of avoiding tackles masks A LOT of potentially bad plays

This isn’t always because of bad o line play. One play in particular is Clyde’s touchdown against Bama where he spun passed McKinney. That was a perfectly called defensive play where the defense had one more player in run support than LSU had blockers. Clyde made a great play and scored a touchdown.

Are you bringing up a 2020 stat to say how the 2019 o line wasn’t good? LSU averaged 4.1 yards a carry against Auburn last season.

We were also playing with our heels on our own goal line, so Clemson was able to pin their ears back and blitz. Once we were able to start a drive from average field position, the offense took off and didn't look back.

Our O-line last year was so-so, don't care what award they won. Joe ran for his life in a number of games. His ability to do this helped a very average line. This years is total dog shite.

It was a very good line. Yes, Burrow helped, but the line was never a problem.

They were above average 3 guys got drafted.

Ingram & Deculus are likely to be drafted as well.
