This is a serious question. So why is Trump still alive? He is not in good shape and I wouldn't consider him an intellectual.
I know people will hate this because its a bad comment about Trump, but this is true.
Is he in good shape?
And yes he is the president, but he has never been known to be "intellectually active". Even before he was president, he pretty much stayed in his office and watched the news all day. Other people did all the work for him.
So I would say genes play a factor as well.

All you need to do to become a successful business man is to inherit 400 million from your dad apparently.
Right, because it’s easy to turn that into 3 billion.
Yuup, 99.9% would have just sat on their hindquarters and lived off the money and gains. It takes a special person to continue to work and create tons of wealth for himself and others and pay tons of taxes (just on property tax alone).

Go for it OP! Work your entire life and be miserable. Not sure how much "work" Trump is doing outside of tweeting at 3am and holding rallies to stuff his pockets with more cash.

I will in 8.5 years when I hit 62. At that point 40 years working in plants will have been enough for me.

The Hebrew word for "Retirement" is DEATH. Don't retire. Enjoy your work and life and leave a legacy to your family.

Good for you! I started planning early in my career and walked away at 63 with no worries financially or health wise issues. I would suggest that you also have plans in place for your future after you hang it up. Stay active, physically and mentally. Good luck!

One has to have a significant lack of imagination if this is all they can come up with for the retirement years, well unless that is your favorite thing to do. I could live 100 years after retirement if in decent health and as long as I didn't run out of money I wouldn't come close to running out of things to do. Hobbies including travel are glorious things.

My kids might have disagreed with you in their younger years! Funny thing is they are probably raising their kids the same way.

One of the most annoying things about the American workforce is old arse white people who refuse to go home.
I mean, I sort of get it, their families don't want them around either but damn.
...and don't let anyone bullshite you, Millennials are almost drama-free compared to Boomers, the true screaming queens of American society

What kind of actual work those guys do though...people do what they say to do.
I know if I was a billionaire barking orders to my help wouldn't feel like work.
They take in info and make decisions and steer the implementation of those ideas. Executive level stuff.
They certainly aren’t grinding out spreadsheets.
I had to explain that to my great-niece last week. She was around my sisters house when I was there and she overheard like 3 conference calls I was on. She asked what I did and when I told her people pay me to think hear little 8 year old brain couldn’t follow.
At the end of the day though that is what I get paid to do by my clients - think up solutions

If work is hopping on my Gulfstream to do a wine tasting and a “business golf” outing , then jetting back home to have a driver pick me up, yea, sign me up for that job!

Seriously? You don't think being in charge of the most powerful country in the world has work involved?
Exactly. Just look at Presidents when they enter office and when they leave. Take a look at George W. Bush and Obama when they entered office, and they looked fairly young and spry. They both looked battered, weathered, and old by the time they exited. The weight of being the most powerful person in the world has stress like none other.
