We have a STIHL 50.2 cc Gas Chainsaw For home self defense.

Even the most brazen of criminals would think twice to enter a home hearing a 130db chainsaw. Forget a shotgun. Chainsaw is where it’s at.

How many bodies are you trying to dispose of and what's their average weight?

Everyone saying Stihl. I have a chainsaw and a blower. Both temperamental as frick.

My Husquavarna weed eater starts easily every time.

I'll probably never buy another stihl.

Stihl, echo, and dolmar/makita are all good. You generally get better dealer support for Stihl’s. Get several Stihl RM non-low kickback chains and you can cut all day.

Do not buy the 250 Stihl. Major issue with carb. Bought from Stines and had to take it back the first time I used it. Mechanic laughed and said you must have the 250 model. I think I paid $259 for it and sold it for $75 less than 10 hours on it. I brought back to Stines 3 times and finally had enough of it.
Ended up buying an echo and runs like a champ every time. Easy start.

If you’re bad with names then find an orange colored one. I’m sort of kidding but You could do lot worse than those brands painted in Orange. Even the Echo I keep at my parents is a workhorse.

It totally depends on what you need it for. I have a Stihl Farm Boss 390 that I seldom use. I have an electric one that I use aboot 1 time a year.

If I had to do it all over again I would stay with the electric one, and a small gas Stihl.

I watch Homestead Rescue and they use Stihl chainsaws. I would think those baws and bawette would know.

How much are you going to use it?

I have a relatively big homestead and I often have limbs and stuff to deal with. I got tired of my gas powered chainsaws not starting so I bought a battery powered saw. One of the best things I've ever bought. Husqvarna 536 LiXP
