The Democrats have clearly signalled want to expand the Supreme Court if they regain Congress and the Presidency, By the same token what would stop the Republicans from doing the same thing and extending the presidency to three terms?

There's a reason it's hard to add a constitutional amendment. Try getting 3/4 of the states today to agree to change the constitution. Of course only one side believes in the constitution...

The left would go for that now. They could re-elect there lord and savior Hussein Obama.

People who know absolutely nothing about the governance of this country should probably keep their fingers off the keyboard when perusing a political board.

You would have to have some super majorities in Congress plus 75% of the states on board to change the Constitution.

Also, the Constitution limits presidential terms. The Constitution does not specify the number of SCOTUS. Trump would need a tremendous supermajority to get a constitutional amendment for a 3rd term. It's not realistic
Muh new deal

Because, unlike the number of Supreme Court justices, the number of times a person may be elected President is stipulated by the Constitution. I don't know if they've taught this yet in 7th grade (because this is the only reason one could have for being as ignorant as you are), but it's quite difficult to change the Constitution. You need 2/3 of both chambers of Congress + 3/4 of the state legislatures.

The OP raises a good question. What if Obama was pushing for a third term in order to run against Trump. Couldn’t he theoretically get enough Dem support for a Constitutional amendment?

Your an idiot. The Constitution limits the President to two terms. In order to change that would require a constitutional amendment. The change even if it was made, would probably be effective for the next President not him.

Step 1: Trump gets reelected.
Step 2: Trump changes his name and gets plastic surgery.
Step 3: Donovan Jameson Trask wins in 2024.
Step 4: Country profits $$$$

Which 38 states would agree to that? Even in 2008 Obama only got 29 states

Agreed. Since you obviously have no knowledge of FDR and the 22nd Amendment, on behalf of the Poly Board we’d like to wish you good riddance.
