To act like this is a choke job is stupid as hell

What's stupid as hell is to think it's not a choke job to go brain dead at third base when every high school player in America knows that you don't run into the first fricking out of the inning at home plate.

91 WS and 96 Ws were worse. tougher blowing leads in WS than NLCS. but yes it was a HUGE choke regardless

I was 5 in '91, and didn't pay attention to anything that was going on in the world. I do remember the '96 series, though, and had briefly forgotten about it while being angry at this loss. I agree, that one was worse... Slightly. It didn't hurt me as much back then, because I didn't have the years of frustration behind me. I just figured it was only a matter of time before the Braves won another title, with the talent they had.

You could see this shite coming from 50 miles beginning Friday and it’s been a torturous but predictable arse kicking since.

Exactly. After Ozuna's base running gaffe in game 5, you could see it all coming.

95 was great thank GOD for that year. nothing but heartbreak the rest. but you can never assume you will have this shot again. we had many shots in the 90s then a 19 year drought. you HAVE TO STRIKE WHEN IRON IS HOT

we failed miserly again by choking

id rather be swept with no choke and just being outplayed

this team is the best at committing suicide in playoffs

@SlangsOnSports
This is the 16th consecutive playoff app in which the Braves did *not* win a World Series

Most consecutive PS apps not leading to title:

Braves 16**
Cubs 14
Dodgers 13***
Athletics 13**
Indians 13**

** = active streak extended in 2020

*** = active streak entering 2020 WS

Naturally, I don't take anything for granted these days. But as a kid, the Braves had just won the World Series, and were so close to going back to back. This was in the middle of the Jordan 6 championships era of the Bulls, and so I had this naive idea in my head that the best team was going to win almost every year. With the horses the Braves had, I didn't dream of what was coming for the next 24 years.

I know a lot more now than I did then, of course. The only thing that makes it easier, is I've come to pretty much expect it. But this was the first time we sniffed the World Series since '99. That '01 NLCS was over before it started. So this one hurt more than anything I've felt as a Braves fan in a long time.

That play reminded me of Lonnie Smith’s gaffe in 1991. There’s a reason Cardinals fans used to call him Skates. Anyway, I knew ATL was done after that.

Holy shite imagine blowing a 3-1 lead.

I can. Only the Cardinals and NHL Capitals have done it four times. Surprisingly, the Blues have done it once.

Smith said he lost the ball in the lights. Not because he was deked by Knoblauch.

I want to run away from this but feel I need to come here. Thank you TD Braves fans this whole weird season. Love y’all.

I can’t feel anything but hopeful for the future of this team. This shite sucks right now but no one thought we would be where we got to when Soroka went down. Not to mention the other injury woes. It will never feel good to lose a 3-1 lead in a postseason series but this is the best I’ve felt about a Braves team since the early 2000s. Chop on and see y’all in spring. Hopefully with a stadium full of fans

Drank- I’m disappointed you never came over and said anything or got a drink. I partly blame you for the bad juju of not accepting my whiskey

Goddammit Atlanta.

I was supposed to enjoy the Dodgers failing again with all that money.

Now I gotta rely on the Rays.

Btw. What happened to Acuna? Was total arse.

We are pretty sure he’s got an injured wrist at the moment.
