Might as well get it started... Drops this Friday, and Haunting of Hill House is one of the best Netflix originals. Gothic ghost horror is my favorite and we are in spook season. Looking forward to what Mike Flanagan does this go around, he's great at mixing horror with an actual story

I'm halfway through a re-watch of Hill House now, it really is one of the best things Netflix has done.

Expecting Bly manor to match that is a tall order, so I have tempered expectations, but I'm looking forward to seeing the follow up.

Us as well, as you we just did a re-watch. Really glad we did.

We are going to treat it like a brand new series and try not to get hung up on what Hill House did. Kinda like American Horror Story.

Did my rewatch after watching Dr Sleep a few months ago. Absolutely loved that movie and it gave me the kick to go back. The funeral home episode is going to go down with episode 4 of True Detective as the pinnacle of tv last decade.

I enjoyed Hill House, but it actually bore very little resemblance to the source novel. The Turn of the Screw is one of my favorite psychological ghost stories, so I’m curious as to how closely the series will follow Henry James’ original story.

myself with Hill House

It’s based on The Turn of the Screw by Henry James.

Excited for this. I’m not an avid reader but I have read Turn of the Screw and a few other Henry James stories. Interested to see what they do with that.

I’m a little anxious, though, because I’m gonna want to look in the background of every shot. Will definitely have to watch it twice.

Ah that kinda sucks. Dude is money when it comes to horror. Reviews so far appear to be promising though

First episode, not bad so far. I find my eyes searching the background of every scene. It’s kind of exhausting.

Enjoyed the first episode. The Flora girl is downright creepy. Good job with that casting.

Also seems like the hidden ghosts are back. Without giving too much away there were a few instances in Ep 1 of the same ghost hiding in the background. And I’m not referring to what Dani sees in mirrors.

I'm about halfway thru. It's got a different vibe, but I'm enjoying it as much or more than Hill House so far. But Hill House really kicked it up the back half of the season. The cast this season is great.
