Well, for the majority of the years we largely were unable or failed to recruit talented QBs.

Some were highly rated out of high school, but even when we moved on from them and they transfered to other schools they never were successful.

Let's see how the last 2 do before we judge. Not looking good so far...

quote:

. o took over long before the recruiting cycle had ended and at one point when Miles left Brennan was wavering big time with Lowell commitment (or one of the others). Anyway, O as recruiting coordinator worked his arse off to keep him. Stick to the facts. The only consistency has been Ensminger and O on offense. For years we bitched and moaned about Miles not changing the offense to match the skill set of the QB. In 2019, that happened (some in 2018 at the end of the season). Brennan is Ensmingers guy. Without question as he has stated himself to being close to Steve. The difference in 1 season was Brady. PERIOD. Say whatever you want about this bull shite and that, Brady knew how to break defenses down and attack like Payton. Everything else is fricking excuses.

I agree with most points, but MB falls on Les Miles for recruiting.

Now, the pipeline may very well be broken beyond repair with the current staff and, as you stated, the one different piece is now gone. Such a shitty situation to be in.

How in the hell did Urban Meyer have such a good QB pipeline and how do we tap into something resembling HM that?

If this keeps up, E needs to retire and the house needs to be cleaned.

he's one of the biggest offensive innovators and developers of modern CFB?

unlike O, he actually has a philosophy and actually gets down and coaches/gameplans. you don't think that helps?

remember, he is the guy who developed Joe Burrow. look how well he did. he also developed the guy who beat out Burrow to start at OSU

Dude - Brennan was an Elite 11 QB with Ehlinger and Tua in that group. Miles was fired in 2016. Brennan signed in 2017. During that season he was wavering. Orgeron did everything he could to keep him. Say whatever you want about a kid that threw 16000+ yards in high school, was elite 11 and had 4 years to develop and hasn’t. It isn’t about his arm talent or his ability to play the position. He is not prepared for this position from a leadership perspective and was not given ample opportunities last season to get in some games when there was plenty of time left in the game to develop him. He had Burrow and Brady to learn under for a whole season/summer but he did not. That time was discussed as a lot on this board many times. It was a question, do we care about records or being prepared for the next season. Maybe he was hurt to some extent, that’s too bad but that TAMU game was over in the first half. He could have and should have played a lot more with the 1’s.

That’s squarely on Orgeron and Ensminger.

Agree with this part, the development (or lack thereof) is all on the current staff. Something is broken with this program and needs fixing. It will either be with O or the whole damn things needs to be blown up.

No more "continuity" if O is replaced. Clean house and start new if that is the case.

This has to be said and no one is going to like it

Ed Orgeron is absolutely clueless when it comes to Offense. Orgeron was smart enough to realize that Burrow had more talent/smarts that anyone on that staff could choreograph an offense around. Hence Joe Brady. They had one shot, and it worked. Now they're back in that rut of unprepared QB's. Brennan will never be Burrow. That's unfair to even contemplate, but Brennan has been here for 4 years, and he isnt any better than day one. That's Ensmingers/Canada, and whoever's else fault. Either Brennan has reached a plateau, or he's just a basket case, either way the coaches know this. He's been here too long not to know. They didn't have a plan after Burrow.

Myles could come back for two more years after this if he wants.
are you his relative or GF? Why is it that every other freshman look good? Why does he have little game experience? Because he has been beat out. Maybe he is just not an SEC starter and that’s fine. If that is the case, then make the change.

Can't disagree with this, BUT- Myles Brennan was a Les Miles recruit, there is hope that O breaks the trend of bad QB recruiting from the get go.

Nice try. Brennan has been here since 2017. There was plenty of time for them to move off of him and find another QB.

Year 3 and Myles looks to be continuing the trend.

It’s Pelini’s fault that Myles has no pocket presence and can’t identify the open receivers.

Also, he hasn’t started for an entire season, which is necessary.

How about we agree that this shite is on O, but there is a bit of Les Miles legacy in there too?

You can blame the development as much as you want, but Felipe Franks was also elite whatever in HS and look how bad he was under QB whisperer Mullen. It seems that EVERY SINGLE QB Les Miles and his team went after were just bad.

I hope that O and his staff can get passed it, but not looking good so far.

If Brennan couldn’t develop after being the understudy to Joe Burrow for two years, then it’s never going to happen for him.

We should've sticked with what works.
Stick with the portal
I put that on o

You take a shitty corner but won't take a qb when u have 2 true freshmen as the only other qbs on the roster.
Jt Daniels would've been my pick

Maybe the QBs just sucked and the coaches can’t play for them. Seems like the good ones did fine.

The last game Brennan started we beat them in 2nd round of the playoffs. We seen on game tape that he is scared of contact. We hit him over and over by the 4qt he was so gun shy of contact. If you have ever coached you understand that if kid hates contact its something that cant be taught. Brennan #s were decent but he doesn't understand how the pocket works. If you think that he played decent yesterday then your a fan that dont understand football.Coach O claims he arm is stronger than Burrow but I don't see it. If you) think he played good yesterday please rewatch the game and watch the balls he throws they were ducks

This poor baby is a college senior, I believe. He has understudied under the best (JB). He has gotten benefit of all the slack he deserves, plus more. It is not unreasonable to expect him to produce wins, from the get-go this year.
