Yeah, let’s just legalize heroin, crack and meth. Personal freedom far out weighs having a productive society with ambition.

You think those things being illegal is what keeps people from doing them?

Meh, he's a cop.

Decriminalizing everything would devalue it.

I think in a few years after decriminalizing all drugs only the rich could acquire cocaine/heroin.

They aren't natural to our habitat and there won't be any value in it so processing it for shipment to the US won't happen.

So small govt and freedom are now liberal ideals?

I dont know if saying its ok to start using heroin when you turn 18 is great for America or the people that live here

People that want to use heroin are already using. The percentage of drug users in America is virtually unchanged for 50 years, despite spending trillions of dollars in prevention and enforcement.

You are correct. Let’s legalize murder and stealing also. Only as long as it doesn’t hurt anyone of course. Kind of like drugs, they only hurt those taking them, not family or society.

Dude. If drugs were legal and cheaper, it would be LESS likely for your scenario to exist.

I have a mmj card as a veteran with qualifying condition. My state is also recreational as of this year. I pay 1% tax, rec pays 16-35%+

Here is a price for recreational 8th of flower near me. I pay $54/3.5g (ridiculous), recreational pays $70.

It doesn’t matter that once you move the line, it never moves back, no matter how ridiculous or bad of a decision it was to move it in the first place.
You just perfectly described the war on drugs. It was a ridiculous, pointless decision that has brought us NOTHING but militarized police forces and prison population bursting at the seams with non-violent drug offenders.

The world is round. Once you start going too far right or left, you find yourself walking from the direction of the opposite horizon.

I don't think he should necessarily lock himself into a position either way.

What he ABSOLUTELY should do is pound the ever-loving shite out of Kamala Harris on a daily basis for incarcerating large numbers of black men for drug offenses while laughing about smoking pot herself.

You posited that murder and/or stealing somehow ever constituted scenarios in which nobody else was hurt.
