is this answer?

People want less police...less incarceration...less profiling, less police in certain neighborhoods

Is this the new imagination of policing?

Must be 18 is the key...

Minors a no go....we can't give up on them...

We are at a crossroads

No one wants to discuss Taylor's bad choices...her responsibility...

She lives another day is police are not out trying to take down drug peddling...

No one wants talk about fatherhood in the BLM movement...

What are the consequences of letting people do drugs as they see fit if 18?

Only a crime when your drug habit impacts another person's rights.

The fact that Trump hasn't changed federal scheduling of marijuana is a big shock to me, actually. Seems like such an easy win

This is a huge dividing line between the older GOPers and the younger ones.

One half thinks the nanny state needs to protect you from your freedom, and the other thinks the war on drugs is a total failure and is a subsidy for a lot of police departments and big govt.

Seemed like George Floyd had no problems getting drugs, his war was because of drugs.

You either believe citizens have the right to do what they want with their body or you don’t.

Masks, helmet laws, drugs, all on the spectrum of limiting personal freedoms for the sake of society.

Decriminalizing it will make it go away hopefully in the future. Price becoming nothing takes away the incentive to ship it here.

I'm not up on the opium game but I didn't think they grew here.

Correct...let him lose his own war...

That said about 15 Years ago a policeman and I had this conversation and he said "come follow me one night in Durham....I will show you 12 year olds involved in prostitution to pay for their mother's drug habit/addiction"

He said for this reason he could never endorse the idea of making drugs legal

Not all drugs are equal.

I cant understand why we waste any money on combating marijuana production/use.

Dude. If drugs were legal and cheaper, it would be LESS likely for your scenario to exist.

Absolutely he should. I don't have any data to back me up, but I'd bet a dollar that drugs are more readily available today than when the "war" was started. WoD only serves to enrich the MIC, the PIC, and the cartels.

Yes. Charge the ones doing actual violence. Not someone helping cancer patients and veterans to get some pot.

People are going to get high. Better they do it with businessmen who have some QC rather than a shady criminal in the hood, with shite cut with god knows what. Go after the poison like meth and opioids.

I mean, do we really want Cocaine Mitch to not be able to get his Booger Sugar?

Look at prohibition to see what happens when you are draconian about vice laws.

Ending the drug war only means our government profiting. You'll have all the same problems and the black market will still be utilized and thrive more.

Yeah, let’s just legalize heroin, crack and meth. Personal freedom far out weighs having a productive society with ambition. Yes, let’s just keep moving that line towards the left. It doesn’t matter that once you move the line, it never moves back, no matter how ridiculous or bad of a decision it was to move it in the first place.
