Updated in OP: Sometimes you’ve got to say “No”. LSU got a hard no today.

LSU wants donations?
LOL
Go ask those BLM folks for some donations. See if they give you money for whatever crap you’re trying to build.
My annual $2500 donation ain’t much but it’s going to the local high school for their trade school program. Not those bunch of fools.
Update:
Met with the local high school and principal about this and they were shocked someone would even consider doing this. They have two scholarships at the school from local businesses.
The issue seems to be how to get this to the kids with this seemingly being official. It will not be tax deductible because it seems like too much crap to create a scholarship fund. It’s like $20k just to start. I’d have to create a Donor Advised Fund. Then contribute to the scholarship fund. It’ll take a decade to get enough money in it to fund it in perpetuity.
Instead, we’ll be opting to just cut the kids preferred school a check every year once they submit a copy of their fee bill.
Welding classes are the most expensive the school counselor said. It’s $1500 for the first level or whatever they do at BRCC. So if we give $3,000 a year, it’ll help two kids get a good start doing some type of trade school.
We are working out the details with the school Guidance counselor to develop some kind of methodology to how they’ll be chosen.
Downside is my wife is now calling me Scott’s Tots in jest.
Update 2:
LSU actually responded to my email from a very nice lady that is the Vice President of something or another.
We engaged in a couple emails.
Essentially, they’re standing behind their Diversity Inclusion Roadmap and all of us who disagree can just be big mad.
That’s fine. My money is going elsewhere.
Get Woke. Go Broke. Enjoy the fruits of your labors.

Ditto for me at UK. If they want to play stupid games fine, but I'm not buying their stupid prizes.

LSU Together
Notice it was Black lives matters the saying and not the organization from my understanding. I think we can all agree with the sentiment.
