It is both sad and dangerous that people/corporations/schools feel/felt the mandate to back the BLM organization (because it is just that) with zero understanding of how they spend their money and for what reasons.

Saying BLM all ends back at the place it started and the organization that made it a campaign. Supporting it without awareness of who they are is almost embarrassing for institutions of learning.

They could have simply said we support equal opportunity and diversity but they knew if they didn't say BLM they would get in the penalty box. Screw that.

Notice it was Black lives matters the saying and not the organization from my understanding. I think we can all agree with the sentiment.

All of the black lives, or just the one killed by white people (especially white cops)?

Even if you differentiate the sentiment of black lives matter vs the organization, there are still issues.

I guess you can pretend he's some sort of one-off aberration. I'm not sure I'd bet on that, though. We shall see what sort of overall hit they take.

annual $2500 donation ain’t much but it’s going to the local high school for their trade school program. Not those bunch of fools.

Too bad more people don’t do this. Colleges are so bloated that donations of your size isn’t even felt.

But a donation that size goes a LONG way to a local small town school or park or anything really.

I’m happy to say that I made the same decision.

I get where you are coming from. But it's my alma mater, my daughter goes there, and I've devoted alot of time over the years. So to me, I hate it although I know it is the right decision.

Screw that. BLM has ridden their very clever name way further than they should have gotten away with.

If you want to support economically challenged people that's outstanding, but that support should be race neutral.

IMO, any support shown for minorities should be completely divorced from BLM. I am not playing the game of "it's the saying, not the organization." The saying, to the extent it is separate from the organization, has been tarnished by rioting, blatant racism, looting, arson, murder and Marxism.

But that's racist in 2020. :letthatsinkin:

Tell them to call Ryan Clark.

I used to give to my college when they called but they will no longer get a cent from me beyond the fees I have to pay for my kid.

Congratulations, I guess. I’m amazed that it never occurred to you before that donating to LSU is voluntarily paying more taxes. The money is fungible, you know. Giving money to LSU doesn’t necessarily increase the money that LSU has to spend. The government just funds them less.

As far as I am concerned, if LSU crawls in bed with this whole BLM front for the Democrat Party that has collected well over a billion dollars, they can look to their new bedmate for donations. They won’t receive anything from me. LSU and this current leadership can waste away.

Yall have absolutely no idea how LSU spends the money donated to the school. If you did you wouldn’t donate a dime.

Enjoy your money going to pay for fancy private dinners for professors and staff, bullshite all expenses paid trips all over the world, and a ton of other perks that absolutely do nothing to give students a better education. It’s a giant slush fund to do whatever they want with. Nothing but a giant scam to keep those individuals living in ivory towers living the life on your donations. LOL

Then they cry to the legislature to give them more money. LOL. A fricking joke.
