Chevron Petronius platform 65 miles WNW of Sally wind at 500 feet above surface. Surface winds are not that high but it does show that Sally is getting stronger and closer to that location

There isnt anywhere near 15 mph winds uptown

classic uptown thought process, thinking you are the only part of the city.

I'd say 15 mph is pretty accurate here in mid city

it's the government... when they actually care about something... they can get it done relatively quickly

it's the getting them to care part that matters

NOLA will be same weather tomorrow as it is right this second. Book it. These weather professionals are morons

There will be a hurricane churning 45 miles due east of New Orleans and people will call them morons for “missing” it. Yes, we know.

I'm also staring at treetops right over the bayou and they are all swaying a little bit in the breeze, maybe you are sheilded from the wind?

The center was elongated NE to SW this morning. I bet this is a sample looking to see if it's still as elongated.

Always interesting to see hurricanes at this stage of development. They all are taking the same steps, but none of them are the same.
