Firearms stores - Near SWLA

Long story short—
Driving home from Utah to help my folks clean up their properties. Being a resident of LA, I cannot legally purchase a firearm in Utah, per multiple stores.
Any recommendations on stores near SWLA that specialize or are more geared to long rifles/ ARs? Is Texas an option? (According to my research, yes)
Additionally, looking to pick up a G19.
I am aware that stock has been flying off the shelves.

The first question you should ask is if there are any gun stores still open in SWLA. Closest city to "SWLA" with a functioning society is Lafayette.

I haven't seen any glocks in store in a hot minute. Gun show in Gonzales this weekend, so you may want to look there

They can't sell you a handgun, I'm not sure about a long-gun

How long do you have before traveling? Honestly, for a rifle, best bet might be to buy one online and have it shipped to a FFL near where you're going.
Pawn shops do transfers, find a decent semi-chain. I think Pelican Pawn and Bayou Pawn are supposed to be decent about that, but don't know if they're close enough (I'm thinking they're in SE La). Might google some, call and ask if they're doing transfers, and then try to time it for shipping.
This is in stock for $650, and it sounds like it would ship in approx 1 wk.

Called LaRue today to see if they’d sell in person and it was a no go.
Buy it online and have them ship to a Louisiana FFL then meet it there. Just be aware that if you have it sent to, say, Shreveport and you get the "delay" on the NICS check, you're gonna have your gun staying in Shreveport while you go on to Lake Charles. Captain Obvious would tell you closer is always better, but this is another reason closer is better as of late.
Can't help you on what stores are operational in the area, though.

You probably will not be able to find a G19 on the shelf anywhere in Louisiana. There are, however, some options in that same general 9mm handgun range that I've seen. I bought a Sig P320X off the shelf in the Lafayette area a couple of weeks ago. I like it the same as a Glock, maybe more as the grip is nicer for my hand. The same store had a Shield, a 365xl, 365, and a Hellcat and even some hammer fired stuff plus a 1911. They had been out of stock of most of these kinds of handguns for a few weeks. So shipments arrive, they last a few weeks on the shelf and then the stores are out of stock. Lafayette shooters or anyone else in the area probably has something good on the shelf, but I doubt you will find a G19. Just go see what is available and it doesn't need to be a G19 for it to suit your purposes.

gunbroker.com and search for proximity to where you'll be in LA?...

Check Jennings. They have a gun store called “Black water guns” , or something like that.
