re: PLEX Servers

I went that route initially years ago until my storage shite the bed. Then I started downloading them (torrents initially then more automated with media stack and usenet). Plex requires consumers to have a PlexPass if they want to download files from libraries that are shared with them.

Are you looking to build/populate your own or specifically looking just to stream from someone's server?

Admittedly I hadn't been paying attention to him specifically, but seemed all was quiet on his front.

Sounds like issue has been isolated to a faulty switch...replace it and move on

Ubiquiti is my usual recommendation for advanced home setups and small businesses. You can even add CyberSecure for $100/yr to have additional filtering and protection.

re: uGreen or Synology NAS?

Posted by BabySam on 1/4/26 at 4:18 pm to
i have 2 synology devices and am pleased with them. have a buddy that has synology and ugreen (he was part of kickstarter) and he raves about the ugreen. granted, i got my synologies discounted at NFR partner pricing. most recent one is the DS1821 and initially populated it with 4 drives from serverpartdeals.com, it's sole use is media storage. other device is RS820 that's for files, apps, backups
Another thing to put on your "comparison list" i would recommend which hosting providers have included business email. And with that I'd want to know how many mailboxes you can have, how much storage per mailbox, how many aliases, how many forwarders. Most will always have an option to upsell M365 or Google Workspace, but for 4+yrs i was fine with the "free" tier from Hostinger for my business needs (im only employee). Unless you have other business needs and will be getting M365/Google then disregard, but i did my business creation for all of ~$400 with business establishment/license, website/hosting, and business cards....

It's also usually common that you get free SSL cert(s) for your website.

tl;dr dont be a jackleg and use personal gmail/outlook as "business@gmail/outlook) as your business email...
of course, no problem...good luck, post any other questions as you progress through this
They're all pretty simple with options to have AI generate stuff based off your inputs. Most common approach is a Wordpress site that you can customize via add-ons (free and purchased). I currently have Hostinger platform that I use for my websites as well as service offering to clients.

Do your price shopping with end of year specials. Noting that you get your best pricing on domain registration and hosting at initial purchase, best to signup for as many years as you're comfortable with. Dont be short-sighted and do just a year.
I like the Beelink line. Plenty of options and have one as my daily desktop. Can get good specs for $250-350
was just about to mention ive seen it on groupon
My son played against him. Randy said hit he took from my boy was biggest of his high school days. Buddy's son (USF lb/s) was on 7on7 team and spoke highly of randy

I usually find which provider has best hosting plan, they usually include free domain when buying service. Ive used hostagtor, godaddy, blue ally, and currently have a hosting platform on hostinger

Im not saying as HC, but having watched their D i find it pretty effective. Their team as a whole doesnt have the depth, which most lsu fans can understand the effects of

USC cocks DC

The SC D has impressed me over last couple years, especially with being multiple, aggressive and forcing turnovers.
