Yeah you aint wrong. I love stewardship. Early game I feel spending the gold on titles to get duchies and a kingdom is more worthwhile. Then once things settle (is there such a thing?) build up. Plus vassals will build buildings on their own dime ive found.
My ruler died of old age at 60 but only son inherited everything at the ripe age of 16. Created a kingdom, formed good alliances and marriages with high chieftess bordering above me. Sitting good...
Except a house member holding a duchy de jour my kingdom declared war on me. Then ruler got stressed and he had to resort to cutting himself (?!) to relieve it. Repelled his effort by calling in allies
Also he is intrigue focused and I'm not sure I like that tree. Also my vassals have already declared war on a neighbor so yeah. No rest
Protip: look at a rulers gold before declaring war because they will get merc armies if above 200g

Intrigue focused ruler referenced above stays at max dread, and ive executed so many prisoners im close to reforming the Slavic faith. I can't seduce due to religious doctrine but I can torture and raid like none other.

I have a 3 year old MSI gaming laptop that I play CK2 on and it runs very smooth. Think CK3 will be ok on it?

Son of a bitch!
I had max dread so peasants never revolted against me. But I had also granted my son and heir a duchy.
Well the peasants rose up and revolted against him. I didn't pay much attention to it but they fricking killed him in a siege!
Then a month later, my ruler dies of old age!
So the realm goes to my 39 year old daughter who is already a queen in another kingdom from marriage. So her king husband cant be on my council.
Already got a murder scheme in place to get a title back. Thankfully confed. Part. Didnt tear apart my kingdom somehow.
Everything can go to shite so quick! I won't be ignoring peasant uprising targeted at vassals again.

No call to arms. I saw the revolt army in my realm doing a siege but just ignored it.
Really I just should have raised an army to stop them but I wanted to save on costs

9k army showed up at my doorstep with a Subjugate cassus beli. Would have lost my king title and ruined my game. Thankfully I had 1k gold banked and full men at arms regimen. Bought two merc squads and defeated them enough for White Peace .
My vassals are taking over new counties for me on their own. Have a 10k army just itching to conquer more.
After a long run of all intrigue rulers its nice to have a stewardship focused ruler.

Became a Tsar(emperor) , things were going well, but then i managed to destroy the entire empire in just a few moves:
1) Create unnecessary Kingdom of Poland title that goes to my shithead son.
2) Convert religion to Orthodox (was never going to get 4100 piety on one character to reform my religion)
3) switch to Feudal government
4) raise crown authority
ruler dies, heir takes the throne.
5) cancel an in progress murder plot on my Nemesis King brother
Suddenly im flat broke and a civil war breaks out from a faction led by my nemesis king brother and the other brother king . my empire title is basically worthless because my levies were made up mostly from their kingdoms
rerolled as some 12 year old gay muslim prince in the Nile delta. planned on taking it easy and just do regular vassal shite but then i get prompted to join a faction to otherthrow my brother and install myself on the Egyptian Throne

I want to play it badly and truly learn it but time has been far to limited. I'm replaying Witcher 3 a little here and there but I'm sadly unable to sit and enjoy games currently. Later in the year it should be better

Really looking forward to the A Game of Thrones mod for CK3. All of my CK2 experience came in that mod, and I think CK3 translates even better to that world with the greater focus on RP, characters, and scheming.

The design a ruler feature might be the best part of this game. I’ve made some rather unfortunate looking characters and it’s pretty funny seeing my characters offspring with other rulers wives. Then I assassinate all his heirs until he is only left with a son that is obviously mine but still recognized as his. Then I marry my daughter to my unrecognized son and their children get inbred trait. This game is so messed up lol
