It’s like a big budget remake of II. Everything just kinda fits better together. Menus are completely redone so that’s been the biggest mind warp of the game.

It definitely feels... more realistic than II. More systems are inter-connected.

Good first play through would be duke of Northumbria.

It will take 10+ expansions to catch up with CK2. Hard to get excited to play it knowing that it isn't nearly as in depth as CK2 at this point. Graphics aren't important at all in that game

I'm stuck to console right now running off generator with no internet other than phone Hotspot anyway. My pc uses way too much power to justify

Yes it’s the most unambitious graphic’s I’ve seen in a very hyped game in a while. At least Stellaris solar systems and fights looked amazing.

I almost purchased it last night but I decided to keep playing Bannerlord instead. I will probably get it this weekend. I'm a newb to the series but dang if it doesn't look entertaining.

Not at all. They didn’t include everything from their expansions obviously, but they included a ton already from their expansions.

I had taken some time off since launch and just started playin again before the hurricane. I noticed a lot of improvements and was having fun with my new campaign. Ready to get back at it

Yeah, judging by the subreddit all the reactions seem really positive. I will have to purchase sooner rather than later depending on how long it takes to get power back

I wanted to get into these games so bad but I watched like 2 hours of beginner tutorials and I still don't have any idea what I'm doing.

Don’t approach it as a game to beat and understand it will take you a very long time to learn most things and you’ll never learn everything.

Just take it as a role playing experience. You are this leader. You have these traits. Go do you.

The game does a pretty good job of keeping you appraised of opportunities but you will have to do a lot of exploration and trial and error.

For example, last night, I had an epic character. Well renowned and celebrated across the realm. Then comes a bitch who offers to cure my gout. And I give her the go ahead. The dumb bitch castrates new and I kill her and bleed out to death. Then I’m stuck playing his gay son who no one likes and is about to be declared war on.

It's on Gamepass. I want to play it but it looks complicated and difficult to understand.

Yes, it’s complicated but for your first few play throughs, just go with the flow. This game isn’t really about winning. It’s about building legacy. And there are multiple ways to do that.

Is gameplay significantly different than CK2 or do my 1k+ hours count for a lot?

Well that gay son ended up being much more successful than I anticipated. I have successfully revolted from Wngland and formed the kingdom of Northumbria.

I do think this is probably much easier than CKII it seems like so far. Probably because of the skill trees. They are pretty powerful.

Although I did just try to attack Scotland and I did so bad I rage shut my laptop down

I like it. It took some getting used to the new interface but it’s an entertaining game. I’m excited for when they start rolling out some new DLC for it which is when it will become great.

So far I’ve rolled with a Irish campaign. Have steadily reunited all of Ireland until my last ruler. Dude had 4 sons 2 died in battle. One was murdered. The other I found out was not actually my son after it was revealed my wife had slept with my brother. Basically my dude went into depression and drank himself to death and then Scotland has gradually chipped away at me while my not actual son is waiting to ascend to the throne. But my vassals hate him and are revolting.

the skill tree adds so much to the game. its nice to have something to focus on when you have no heirs that need to be wed and you arent going to war with anyone

The game creator paid Robbaz to do a live stream of it, early access. LOL

He found a tribe/group that don't believe in clothes(shocker, he found them), and he tried to turn everyone into his nudist religion. They did show boobiies, no shlongs.

And he of course became the queen after the husband died, and tried to bang her kids.

Looked kind of cool, but very detailed. I know there are already several in game exploits that ruin it.
