I watched a game last night where a dude turned Iceland into a dwarf kingdom ruled by incestuous dwarves that were worshipped as gods 
Of all the games out there, this might be the one that makes me finally get a PC

I love that every leader you have is completely different than the last. The greatest leader I ever had in my dynasty was a military genius who was loved by most of his subjects. The pope also loved him and he was a faithful man to his wife and lived until he was an old man and died peacefully. It was a very satisfying time to play the dynasty.
Then his oldest son took over who was an idiot, ugly, insane and had multiple illegitimate children. He made it about 3 years before be was assassinated by one of his siblings

Holy shite, I finally watched some gameplay videos. This looks like a much better CK2, obviously. I've been meaning to upgrade my PC anyway (this thing is ancient), and now I have good reason to do so.

Took yalls advice and watched about 30m of YouTube and it makes so much more sense. Having fun with it now

Think my wife was having some extramarital activities. Other than being little people, my ruler and his wife are completely stacked on stats and characteristics. Genius, Beautiful all that good stuff. The heir is a total frick tard. He came of age with nearly 0's on all stats despite being mentored by my ruler, and got a few bad traits that no one else in my family had. Ive tried sending him to battle hoping he would get killed and the next in line who is a beast would take over, but he wont fricking die ...I love the home screen feature though. Its a great touch.

frickkkk I wish I had some prestige to take over this fools land cuz I can muster 3 times the troops he has and take him out quick as shite.
Find go for a hunt. Get prestige. Declare war, muster my troops, get in a fight with his troops, easily win. Go to take over his castle, am 15 troops short to lay siege. Fucccccccckkkkk. Go back home, wait a few months to gain some more troops...
Out of fricking no where, death stack of 3 groups of 1400+ troops of blonde hair blue eyed Viking fricks who immediately proceed to wreck my shite in.
Went from “frick yeah, bout to win this war and get some new land” to what the literal frick just happened in 5 minutes flat
Of course my player dies along with most of my court and knights, leaving my feeble 4 year old GRANDDAUGHTER as my playable character

Its absolutely one of my favorite games to pass time with. I had CK2 installed on my laptop and would play it a lot on long flights. Just a great in depth game.

Went ahead and got it. I'm doing one of my favorite playthroughs that I did in CK2 - starting off as Haraldr "Fairhair" Yngling and eventually forming Norway, and hopefully Scandinavia in the future, as well as reforming the Norse faith.
Divorced my wife before I unpaused and found a quick giant to marry. First son was a quick giant as well. Things are looking up and I'm steamrolling all my neighbors, besides that fig Bjorn Ironside controlling Sweden.

Really any youtube on ck3 will be useful. There's a lot of terms to learn but if you play to your ruler strengths and follow the Issues tab you will be on your way.
Meaning if your ruler has 15 martial and 0 diplomacy, you should plan on going to war and not be a diplomat.
