@CharlesRobinson

On the Alvin Kamara situation with the #Saints, I'm told that right now, the team is comfortable making him a top 5 paid RB ($12+ mil per season). But Kamara's number is pushing more toward the #Panthers' Christian McCaffrey extension ($16+ mil per). That's a pretty wide chasm.

You do not pay that much to a RB in today's game. Trade his arse.

It is a numbers game. The Saints know right now that they are never going to give Kamara the $14-16 million a year that he is looking for or thinks he deserves.

Plus they have the franchise card, but really do not think he is worth that either.

I have said this many times. Kamara is a talent, but with Brees at QB you could pencil in several back and get similar production.

Is Kamara really producing that much more than Pierre Thomas. You can pay another guy 4-6 million and get 700 yards rushing and 700 in receiving.

If you are not interested in paying it then see who is?

I don't think you can get a 1st, but maybe a 2nd and a 4th.

McCaffrey's value to Panthers > Kamara's value to Saints

Its a game with Klutch Sports. They want to meet in the middle at 14ish, but I don't think the Saints will do that unless its "fake money".

It’s been fun watching kamara but there isn’t a shot in hell hes getting 16 million.

If this is the case then nice knowing you, Kamara.

Yea if he wants 16 per...trade his arse & roll with Murray/Montgomery.

That's the smart business decision.

if he's demanding that kind of money, no one is dishing out that kind of draft capital for him. Plus he's just not worth it, two years in a row he faded because his body couldn't hold up to extensive touches.

this is likely all posturing and the two sides meet somewhere in the middle.

I'd take mixon over him straight up

Who would trade for him knowing he wants 16?

Why not? He was a deteriorating talent last year at a non-essential position to pay highly

The Panthers could that because they are paying less for their QB
With Bridgewater on a more cap friendly deal and if they draft his replacement if the opportunity presents it itself than you have a QB on a rookie deal.

The Saints might get a break when Brees retires by paying less at the QB position but you can't tie up RB for that amount when you have huge deals on the horizon for CB and OT plus Cam Jordan wants more money too. Not to mention Demario Davis has earned a nice raise as well.

Leverage talk. No way they trade him. Unless they get another game changer I’d be fricking pissed if they actually did. I do agree it should be for a reasonable price

At 16mil, trade him and I'm a huge fan of his. You just cannot make him the highest paid guy when he hasn't proven as much.

At least paying Mike Thomas, his production was elite and durability was there
