Something about seeing convoys of Power Trucks and Crews from all over heading down to help really feels patriotic. America at its best. Rolling sleeves up and helping out when we face disaster.
Lots of trucks today on 20/59 Southbound. God bless and be safe.

Nothing but baws in those trucks. No Biden voters, that's for sure.

I've always felt the same way. Just some blue collar guys working a job that they may or may not hate giving people their power back. My brother is a lineman and I'm damn proud of him.

Even the Canadian baws helped out after Katrina:

Vancouver Urban Search and Rescue
One of the first things Canada did was to deploy Vancouver Urban Search and Rescue to Louisiana. They arrived on a WestJet Airlines aircraft in Lafayette, Louisiana on the evening of August 31, 2005. Due to security and logistics issues in the disaster area surrounding New Orleans, the team started operations on September 3; they saved 30 people that day. They were the first outside responders to arrive in St. Bernard Parish, beating American response teams[2]. By the time they returned to Vancouver on September 6, they had reportedly saved over 110 people.

I saw a convoy of at least 15-20 on I-20W today near Lincoln. That was just bucket trucks. There were several regular pickups sprinkled into the convoy as well.

It was impressive.

I just made the drive from Baton Rouge to Fort Morgan and must have seen 75 caravans of 3-5 trucks each.

Living in NC, I can confirm that linemen here are the equivalent of the “plant baws” from LA. Good folks.

We lost power and well water for 6 days a few weeks ago when the tropical storm came through the Northeast. This area was grossly underprepared for the storm. There were no teams staged in advance of the storm. It took a few good ole boys from Missouri to get the lights back on.

From my experience, the South has the best response to major storms compared to the rest of the country.

I'm heading to West Texas as post and I can say that there is a major amount of convoys coming down 55.
