Just opened up the Instagram comments on the Pels post about letting Gentry go. 90% of the comments are begging for Mark Jackson or Jason Kidd. My God people are fricking idiots.

I think it's pretty obvious that Griff is influenced solely by Pels Talk alone

We are the elite forum to go to for advice/personnel decisions SONS.

People mention coaches they’ve heard of. It’s why you hear the same 2-3 names mentioned again and again for each job for years. Mark Jackson, JVG, Kidd, etc.

Those are names people know.

It never made sense to me, firing Monty Williams the year
he got the team over the hump and into the playoffs; and hire an older coach with a head coaching track record of losing. There never was a big enough lead, with the clock
running out and Alvin manning the chalk board.

Lue is a smokescreen, not gonna happen. Kidd brings cache but his baggage might not go over well in N.O. Too tempting.
They are NOT getting this job. That I KNOW, take it to the bank.

Griff is picking his guy now. Griff and Langdon are in control of this. Gayle and Mickey have no say so and dont want it, frankly. Gayle WILL write the check. Gayle is willing to TRUST and spend on Griff's vision of an NBA franchise.

Griffin said that all of the candidates they want to talk to are still in the bubble and with their teams. He took a pause after that and said “and some may not be.” Then repeated again with “for the most part they are still with their respective teams.” I think he is aiming someone really hard from these bubble teams. He also said it would be a very long process because of that. So we won’t get any head coach announcements until the season is over probably tbh. Especially when these meetings would NOT be done through Zoom.

I swear if they are waiting for Jason Kidd from the Lakers or Tyronn Lue from the Clippers, I would give up on this management. Jacque Vaughn is an interesting choice. All his players love him and I think he learned his mistakes when he was HC from Orlando. Part of his philosophy is communication with his players and assistant coaches to see if it matches up with his method. He doesn’t have a huge ego and blame others like Jackson. Going 5-2 with all the injuries is impressive as hell with that roster. If Langdon can somehow bring in Kenny Atkinson and Jacque Vaughn together, I call it a win imo

This young core with an outstanding centerpiece in Zion should garner some decent interest honestly.

Udoka is 2nd and 3rd best odds on the two main betting sides. That’s pretty crazy for someone no major person is connecting to us.

I guess because he’s a hot name for the bulls and nets already. Might as well add him to the Pels as well

I wouldn't put any thought into Vegas odds. They don't know, and they are just placing odds on how they think morons will bet something this stupid. They know most people have no idea, but all they hear on tv is Lue and Kidd, so even if they knew they had little chance, the general public, who are mostly morons that believe anything they see on tv, will be betting on those two, so you have to put the odds in their favor so that Vegas can make money. The only thing Vegas cares about is making money, not picking who has the actual best odds to become the coach.

Best job available

Will have the pick of the litter for replacement

Discipline is going to be critical. Young players.

Stackhouse

Best option:
Kenny Atkinson

Griff went out of his way not to do a laundry list of things they're looking for so it didn't look like he was bagging on Uncle Al. But one specific coaching skill he did talk about was "engendering player buy in" and he also said that "Won't Bow Down wasn't a marketing slogan."

Combine that with him wanting someone that "shared their vision of the team" (ie not looking for someone to bring in a new system) and the fact that he feels a lot of the assistants will be able to stay, and I'd say Griff wants someone with leadership and motivation as their strongest skill.

All of this sounds like Ty Lue

Yeah. I think that’s who Woj is strongly hinting at as Griff’s number one target.

If winning were paramount Jackson is a can’t miss. Sadly his personal beliefs make him a pariah in the new communist NBA.
