Probably not. Too many idiots in NY. They did elect Cuomo and DeBlasio.

Canceling the 9/11 skylights is a huuuuggggeee mistake. You will see all the other skyscrapers across the city rent lights to put up in the sky that night if the memorial isn’t lit up.

The only way that works is if NYC is so depopulated that upstate gets a lot more pull.

Highly unlikely.

I'd be curious to see data related to urban v rural population within a state and how that translates to voting. Cities are overwhelmingly Democratic in electoral patterns, and the denser the share of the population that is urban, the more likely they are to vote that way.

There are plenty of baws in CA, NY, IL, etc., they just get outvoted by the masses in their cities.

No doubt the divide is urban vs. rural. The battleground is the suburbs. You see those voting by county maps red vs. blue and 80% of the land mass is red.

The people that have fled NY probably are the ones that would have voted for him.

My question are “How much outflow has NYC has had” and “Where did they end up?”

Last I heard, a ton of people have decamped from the city for the Hamptons, Florida, or Connecticut.

The Hamptons are still in NY state so that is a neutral change unless they flipped hard on the Dems.

Connecticut is hardcore Dem so that would have no effect.

Florida? Possibly a BIG fricking problem if they decamped there en masse and didn’t change voting habits.

Hope porn.

But that cancellation of the 9/11 tribute despite allowing massive rallies and riots is gonna enrage a lot of people

This is like asking if Biden can win Oklahoma.

NY hasn't gone for a Republican since Reagan, and likely never will again.

I don't see it happening. People in New York and California will shoot themselves in the foot just to spite themselves. They can't help it.

We've only turned a few posters here like JeffBoomhauer and a few others. Toddy saying he's done with the Dims was huge. But most of them are stuck in their ways. See TigerDoc.
