I think that Marco ended up feeding that beast and it just won't do the typical weakening just prior to landfall. This is bad news. Prayers for anyone in the path.

I'm not necessarily a violent person... Anymore..
But there is a few times here id love to throw a few punches.
Especially after some of their shite doesn't add up to other places. Today is the first time I've watched the weather channel in years. I'm in a hotel and that's all they have.
They really don't seem to be in the up and up sometimes.

My wife is claiming Lake Charles will be weeks without power because some dumbass on the weather channel repeated this crap. How legit is this? We talking the Prien Lake Park area.
Lake Charles is about to be without everything for weeks

Then make a separate thread for all the jokes, shitty one liners, and IMing
shite is about to hit the fans

Alright all, going to ask a favor at this point.
Can we please keep the posts relevant to the storm, impacts, what people are seeing, hearing, etc., moving forward?
We would certainly appreciate those that are following the thread for information at this point to be able to get it fairly quickly.
Appreciate you all understanding. It will be a long night for some, days and weeks for many, and life changing for a lot.
We'll keep the hijacks to a minimum. Tough to do sometimes, so hopefully you'll work with us.

It was Harvey.
Definitely Harvey. I was there all night. The car wash blowing apart was pretty damned scary.

Actually, Marco is responsible for at least one factor that could have limited Laura. It left a small swath of cooler water right in Laura's path. However, Laura was well on the way to RI last night and was moving too fast for that cooler water to weaken it at all.

We were without power after Rita for 9 days.
But that was 15 years ago, and I saw someone say they updated the grid after Rita.

JBE said in his press conference today that they have more personnel staged and ready to get the grid back up than we've ever had before

Good news I have seen countless power trucks, fema busses and national guard with bobcats headed west on I-12 this week. Pray they work fast.

They will explain to you that it's just another day at the office but you know they say their prayers and have their wills ready. Every bit of my flight training required 20 miles between you and a thunderstorm. These guys fly into 200 mph winds.
I have a family member that did it for years. He didn’t seem like it was big deal at all

See y’all in the other thread.
Appreciate the work some posters are doing to keep us more informed than anyone on the internet
