Who the hell really NEEDS a pick-up truck, let alone a massively huge one. Are there really that many people in this country who are hauling around shite from place to place on a regular basis? I kind of doubt it.

If you want a vehicle with lots of passenger space and grocery/weekend project space, your options are trucks and SUVs. We don’t really make large cars anymore, I think Volvo and Subaru are the only companies making station wagons anymore. Trucks are cheaper than SUVs when we are talking equivalent passenger space, so they sell better.

More people should probably buy vans (Financially they are a pretty good deal) from a practicality stand point, but a lot of people don’t care for the look, and in rural areas vans are limited by ground clearance.

I can’t imagine going through life as a liberal city dweller.

Some of us need a real truck because we do man shite and have a true need for 400+ HP and 1000 ft-lbs of torque. Rolling coal is just for fun though

I don't care if the truck is big as long as the driver can properly drive, and more importantly, park. Too many baws who think they're badass can't even park their truck.

Wife drives a Nissan Armada. We could move and not have to use a trailer. Love it. 14.2 MPG of 5.6 L dual OHC and frick off. Pulls the boat like it’s a go cart.

If I ever get to old to drive the cars I love, (the ones that make actual noise and make you pay attention on rainy days) I think I’d buy the Titan.

He doesn't need one, therefore you don't need one.
Also, what does this even mean:

I was nearly squashed by an unusually large pickup. Thank God I was wearing a mask.

The press is all in.

ryan cooper
@ryanlcooper
sales of mega-pickups, which have basically been deliberately designed to intimidate and kill pedestrians, are booming

the trend of 6-foot grilles that create massive blind spots and pull people under to be crushed when they are hit is 100 percent a marketing gimmick

@JustEric
"deliberately designed to intimidate and kill pedestrians"

How do you manage to tie your shoes without killing yourself?

Replying to @JayCostTWS
And in case you're wondering, the prompt for this is the guy suggesting the F-150 is actually a fulfillment of some weird rage fantasy among rural folks.

Me: "I need a truck for towing stuff and hauling things."
Sales: "How often do you intimidate and kill pedestrians?"
Me: "Oh, shite - I forgot! All the time. My last truck sucked at it, though."
Sales: "You're in luck! Take a look at our PedSmasher XLT."
Me: "Excellent!"

While I find it laughable that the Average Joe Suburbia would get a full sized pick up to drive 15 miles each way to an office job that will never require the usage of a truck, I also recognize that this is America and as long as Tiny Dick AJS stays in his highway lane and out of my parking spot, I couldn’t give less of a frick what he drives.

Americans have always loved large, powerful and luxurious vehicles. Its just changed from rear wheel driven large luxury sedans to SUVs and pickups. The only time economical cars were really popular was when gas was over 3 dollars a gallon
