So APD held a briefing in which they say the driver of the vehicle fired the first shots after ole antifa bro pointed his rifle at him.

They say the second round of shots were actually from someone in the crowd firing at the car.

Well that doesn’t change much if true.

Oh I agree. I don’t feel bad at all for him. If anyone should face charges should be the a-hole who recklessly fired at the baws car

Article with details from APD

quote:

According to police, gunshots were fired from inside the vehicle at Foster. They said during the initial investigation, it appears Foster may have pointed his weapon at the driver of the vehicle prior to being shot.

After the first volley of gunfire, another individual reported hearing the shots and saw the vehicle driving away. This person then drew their concealed handgun from an ankle holster and fired multiple shots at the vehicle as it drove away.

quote:

Both the driver of the vehicle and the individual who returned fire have been released pending further investigation. It was confirmed that both these individuals possessed a concealed handgun license.

They were protesting the police but when shots were fired multiple calls came into 911. so they called the police. Cant make this up.

What’s the legal justification for the second shooter being released? The driver was no longer a threat if he was fleeing.

He fired at a fleeing vehicle. Is it because the occupant of the vehicle was a danger because he was armed and possibly driving towards other protesters as he was fleeing?

I was wondering the same thing. It’s going to be a lot easier for the driver to legally justify the shots he took than it is for the second shooter.

I was looking at his Facebook page and he is a Libertarian...not your typical BLM Antifa type it seems..is this a thing with Libertarians now to align with BLM and against police or was he just an outlier?

Plus, they are carrying weapons, of which they don't want the trained police to use

Depends when he shot, vehicles are considered lethal weapons.

Libertarians generally agree the police are militarized and currently trample all of the 4th Amendment.

There are 6 states that have laws that ban the carrying of any firearm by any person involved with any protest or demonstration on public property. It also includes having a firearm in your vehicle if the vehicle is less than 1,000 ft. from the protest area. Alabama is one of those states. I've never given it much thought because I'm not much of a protester, but I think I am in favor of this law.

Quite a few other states leave the decision up to individual municipalities. So, check before you carry.

I will never be in favor of this law, and anyone who has ever researched Kent State should not be either.

Texas is a stand your ground state. He will get off on the criminal side. The civil may be a butch though.
