I can say I’ve had a year that could be considered bad, but every situation had a silver lining.

Got T boned at 40 mph in January, didn’t get hurt (other than some delayed whiplash).

An out of nowhere hailstorm in May damaged the weather head on the roof, fricking up the wires and almost burned down the house... got a new weather head and a new roof out of it.

Daughter got Covid last month, but hardly was sick from it.

On the plus side, came into decent money a few times this year, lucky to have a job pay me when quarantined, and upgrading a few things around the house.

Been lucky.

I am in a business that is experiencing record high demand and prices. Our profits are through the roof. Its better than my wildest dreams.

I'm in the middle of a two week RV trip through the Rockies with my kids. We're having a blast.

I feel ya man, it's been hell for me too. Broke up with my girl right before this whole quarantine shite went down. Sucks hella arse not being able to distract myself from that, but I'm pulling through. I basically just look forward to college football season, but I kinda think thats not gonna happen anymore so hell continues.

I started a new job in February. Snuck it in right before the buzzer. I'd have been up shite creek if I was still looking when the shutdown happened.

I'm getting married to the coolest, funniest girl I've ever met this evening. We are closing on our dream home on Wednesday.

It has been a fairly dreadful year. Like all businesses, my firm's revenues have declined significantly as a consequence of the pandemic, which has reduced my earnings in turn. Recently, after toiling for several months to win a massive project from a client, that project was summarily tranferred to a competitor exclusively on the basis of race by the the minority executives of the client. They did not even bother to create a pretext for the maneuver, they openly acknowledge it was done in the interests of advancing social "justice." All cultural, sporting, social, and leisure activities I enjoy have been eradicated. I was supposed to take a memorable and long-awaited vacation with my significant other, but that was obviously cancelled. My daughter's schooling has been disrupted, which makes me concerned for her social and intellectual well-being. It is also exhausting to try to care for a child at home and maintain a demanding career. And finally, the vitriolic and irrational sociopolitical climate in this country is depressing. I fear that merit and reason and decency and freedom are endangered. The public mind is unmoored. The situation makes my life and efforts feel futile, my goals unreachable. Hopefully, it will all pass.

In the good column: I think my significant other is gorgeous and sensuous, I love her and I believe we have a great relationship, I love my wonderful daughter beyond words, no one I know has gotten seriously ill, I am fortunate enough to still be employed, I've continued to work out during quarantine, I've had the opportunity read and think during quarantine. I am grateful for these blessings. I know there are many people enduring greater hardships than me.

Had plenty, life hasn't changed much but the shity news cycle.
As an avid cyclist, still get my weekly mileage, mountain biking hasn't changed.
Got a raise and one of the largest bonuses ever gave out by my workplace!
Working from home, which I hope leads to always working from so I can move to a mountainous area of the country.
My kids is moving out in 3 weeks!

Not all good though, drinking is up and mom is stuck in an ALF the last few months that I can't visit.

Probably the surest sign that it's 2020 is that I really don't want to say anything for fear of jinxing what good luck that I've had.

NYE 2020 may be the party to end all parties. Everyone's ready to be done with this year.

I got married in Charleston in June and actually was able to have a great week and wedding ceremony with about 100 people despite it all

It was even a fairly cool weekend for June. Almost like there was divine intervention to make it a special week.

Well it started out when the postman delivered a Past Due bill notice, then the next morning the alarm clock rang 2 hours late, I look outside and the the garbage man had left all the trash on the sidewalk and the hinges fell off of the gate. Then this morning at breakfast, I spilled all the coffee, then I opened the door on my knee....so the last thing I needed, the first thing this morning, was to look back at 20 20.

We could turn just about all of these into a Bad luck Brian 2020 meme.

Every day is a blessing, friend.
