Make sure it’s a place you really want to be before pulling the trigger. Being led around by the dick can be dangerous.

I hear ya. I ain’t exactly 19 years old and can be jumping around. A part of me is saying, if it don’t work out, I’ll just move back. I am trying to be cautious, want to be continuing to advance career.

Where at? I suggest trying it. I was in the same boat as you. 7 years later, I’m grateful I did it.

New Orleans. 33 years old (she’s same age). Her job is in St Paul, MN

That’ll definitely be quite the culture shock. Never been to St. Paul, wish I could give more advice. But you can always move home if you don’t like it there.

I own 20+ acres in the NW GA foothills.

The only place I'd consider moving is the I-30 corridor in northeast Texas between Dallas and Texarkana. That place reminds me a great deal of where I currently live in terms of topography and friendliness of the residents.

In the current climate, raising 4 Caucasian boys, moving to an island is a serious consideration. I'm not joking.

Are you living in Compton?

My wife is a lot more open to moving than she was in the past. We can see ourselves leaving Louisiana in the next 3-5 years.

My parents are getting to that age and I fear that if I were to move and something were to happen in the near term, I wouldn't be able to help them. If I were already elsewhere, settled, and established, I could easily take on moving them closer if need be, but at this point, I'm locked in until they're either not with me anymore or I retire.

FOLLOW HER IMMEDIATELY. Trust us on this one. Read some of the reasons people are staying in this shithole state and get out before those things happen to you.

As in MINNEAPOLIS/St. Paul?
On the other hand, let's not be fricking hasty here.

Family. That's it.

If it wasn't for both me and my wife's family here, we would 100% be somewhere else.

More than likely the PNW.

Wife’s family. That’s it. We’ve talked about it a lot when her gmaw and parents are gone it’s very possible we might leave Louisiana.

This is the first place I've lived longer than 5 years and I just don't want to move again.

My significant other.

I’d rather be here with him than anywhere else... BUT if something happened to us, I’d be outta here within a month.

I love California and my job is 90% based there, so it would be a very easy move. We work remotely anyway, but it would eliminate the expense paid for me to travel there.

Family & Child.

Wife is physician and taking a lower salary vs moving to a more remote hospital/physician group.

I own my own business and function anywhere with cell/internet service.

Both our parents live within 3 miles of each other so if you factor in cost of care for child and other similar costs, its probably a wash (after tax).

I''m really considering moving to the mountains of New Zealand.

Money/family/job/logistics/etc are my biggest setbacks right now though.
