I got my CC permit approved today and I have a list of possible handguns to get. I am trying to stay below or around $300. Some of these are going to be hard to find. Let me know what you think. Most of these will have to bought online.

1) Taurus G2 - $275 or G3
2) Ruger EC9S - $250
3) Canik TP9
4) S&W M&P Shield 9MM - $330
5) Stoeger STR-9 Compact - $300
6) Ruger Security 9 - $300
7) FMK 9C1 - $230
8) Kel-Tec P9 - $260 (no manual safety)
9) SCCY CPX-2CBDE CPX2 - $250 (no manual safety)

I have a shield and its shoots pretty well. However, I did replace the trigger in it with an Apex

If you’re talking about Canik for cc, I think only the TP9 Elite is small enough and it’s closer to $400. I have the TP9SF (got it for $300 pre-tax, ffl, etc) and I love it, but it’s too big to cc.

For your price range this will be the best option.

Have you thought about a Kahr CM9? I've got one with almost zero use that I like but I wouldn't mind parting with. I intended to carry daily and just can't comfortably in an office environment.

I carry a Xd9 sub compact and love it
BUT I paid for a shield EZ performance center yesterday after getting my first "delay" in my life.
This one
It feels so good in my hand. lighter (less rounds) than my XD and just fits a little better.
Now I'll probably have to wait until Wednesday to pick it up

I have a G2C that I really like but I only paid about $230 for it.

Next will be the Shield 2.0.

Shield. You get what you pay for, but the Shield is the exception in your list.

I have one of these. I wouldn't bet my life on it. The mCarbo trigger mod makes it suck less. Find another $100 and bump your price range to $400.

Best value for money: Shield
If I didn't have a dime over $300 to spend EC9s.

For that budget the S&W Shield is the way to go.
