Had same experience a couple of months ago for my first experience with the Popeyes chicken sandwich. I was so disappointed. It was like biting into a super ball.
I begrudgingly tried again a few weeks later and it was much better, but they definitely have some quality control issues with their chicken supply.

I have to agree. Definitely not overrated but I hate they don’t have cheese. A slice of pepper jack on this sucker really makes it even better

Can anyone answer if Popeye's cajun rice has always been terrible? The one time I ordered it a few months back it was inedible mush. It was overcooked with a terrible, off taste. I didn't even want to try feeding it to my dog.

I make’em at home. Check out “Smokin’ & Grillin’ wit AB” on YT. His Popeye’s recipe is on point. Most of his stuff is money although his CFA Spicy Chicken Sandwich wasn’t very good.
But that Popeye’s is a winner. Can’t make it enough for the family.

Did this.....minus the beans on the sandwich. I’m a pretty frequent crapper. Pretty much after a meal, I’m squatting. After I ate that combo, I crapped no less than 7 times from lunch until I went to sleep. And when I got in bed my wife could not believe the noises coming from my stomach.
Sandwich was good. Not waiting in line for more than 20 minutes good. My favorite thing from Popeyes is still red beans. Haven’t eaten either since this event occurred last year.

Staring Lane service has been 5star for me ever since Covid. About 10 times I've been. Maybe more.

They are good. I have told more than one Popeyes establishment and the people that work there to get fricked.
I know of three that I have never had a problem with and actually enjoy going there.

Was it good? Yeah. But all people talk about is “omgzzz best thing evarrrrr” and it wasn’t close to that. I prefer CFA to it by a good margin actually. Let the downvotes rain down.
