Since you asked, it isn't torpedo grass (but it is).

Friend,

Does it really matter? Torpedo grass, St. Augustine, Bermuda, all just green weeds that cover the ground. Don't sweat it.

Yours,

Burn it, till it, spray glyphosate, burn it again, dig out 2 feet of dirt, replace dirt, and start over.

two options and only two:
ignore it and mow it and accept your fate (see tulanelsu)
destroy it and everything around it including the soil (see ronk)

was this fill installed by a landscaper?
if it was I’d go kick his arse

I’ve got a few spots where it’s showing up. I’ve hit it with sethoxydim every other week and it has receded a bit. I under stand tho it will come back. Just gotta keep hitting it and eventually I’ll go buy some sod squares.

River sand, and bank sand, always bring all kinds of weed seed with them.
