I mean isn't it what we want movies to be about?

And that they pulled off this modern retake with aplomb.

There's not a dry or boring moment in the movie. It's a throwback that I'm sort of surprised it got made in the late 80's. It wasn't bombastic but sentimental. It's one of the most perfect movies ever made.

Princess Bride is such a great movie. I remember one of my friends said he's not into "chick movies"... and we all said, watch the movie dummy.

It's got all the qualities a man loves and women too. It's lighthearted, but poignant. Love, sacrifice, undying friendship.

So many to choose from. The 80s was the decade of the action movie.

I’d say Raiders of the Lost Ark if forced to pick one.

I wouldn’t disagree with Princess Bride, Back to the Future, or Predator, but I say Raiders of the Lost Ark. It’s a perfect movie IMO.

I'd have to say Raiders, by a slight margin over the rest of the pack. Die Hard is probably the one I've researched the most.

Not my favorite movie from the 80s, but this is a perfect representation of what made the 80s great.
