Princess bride is a good choice

Another strong contender is Back to the Future

Eta: surprised no mention of Ferris Bueller's Day Off

Great list, but all very early 80s. So while technically 80s, I think Raiders is the only one that still feels like an “80s movie” 30+ years later. Which is a tremendous testament to both Ridley Scott and Scorsese, while not being a slight to Spielberg at all. Speaking of which, I’ll toss out E.T. for consideration.

I just watched BTTF with my kids ranging from 6-11 years old and it realllllly holds up.

They were super into it and I forgot how much it a perfect movie it is.

During the climax with the lightning my kids were losing their minds. That is special seeing how it's 35 years old

Since most of my answers are already taken I'll throw in some honorable mentions... Great Outdoors, Vacation Movies, Spaceballs..etc,etc...

The 80s were filled with great movies.

John Carpenter and Kurt Russell teamed up to make some great ones:

Escape from New York
The Thing
Big Trouble in Little China

Then Carpenter put out They Live, another great 80s movie.

I think we can agree that collectively, the 80’s beats the crap out of the last decade and possible the last 30 yrs
