Doesn’t matter, do what you think is right for yourself.

Every single person that keeps talking about our #s have gone up is a good reason not to go to phase 3 should be executed. Our #s going up is completely irrelevant. It's about the # of people on vents.

I agreed with you, but I have been hearing increasingly from doctors and medical staff that they are going away from vents almost completely, except in the most absolutely heinous of circumstances.

Apparently a lot of doctors believe the vents were making people worse in a lot of situations.

Apparently all aren't fine if someone went and spread it to 100+ people.

No they didn't. The complete idiots who did not understand that reopening portions of society was always going to result in an increase in new cases are the ones ruining it.

Rapid spreading WILL accompany reopening, no matter when it happens. Why is it better to have that occur months from now as opposed to now? We have already accomplished the goal of the shutdown--to ensure that the healthcare system remained capable.

But I guess we'll just wait years until there are zero cases anywhere before college kids can go to the bar.

Except they still are fine, even those with it, thats the point

Being mad at people for getting a virus from being out at a bar or restaurant that doesnt make them sick is absolutely ridiculous, and proof we have lost our minds

Those 100 people in Tigerland made news all over. Now a ton of students are getting tested as a result. Numbers will only continue to climb.

It is possible to contract Covid and ultimately be "fine". It's not a death sentence, nor is it a guaranteed trip to the hospital

I had a teleconference with my doctor last week. He had just come back from a week of isolation. His kid was at a party where 1 kid came down with symptoms. 14 total tested positive from the party, only 2 had symptoms. Of the 14 kids, out of all the moms/dads/siblings/etc. that they live with, only 2 others were positive. None needed hospitalization, the teenagers barely felt it, one Mom had a rough few days but bounced back

It's both.

Hell, two weekends ago I went to a bar that was well over the capacity they were supposed to be at, left after 1 drink and this past week the bar sent a message over socials that they were closing because at least one person caught the virus.

I am all for re-opening but anytime you have a large number of people gathered, more people are going to get the virus until there is either herd immunity or until there is a vaccine.

And for the comment about having someone in nursing homes. What an idiotic comment. Those people haven't seen family in months, and according to several workers in there, I know, b/c I ride an ambulance and go in to nursing homes, are some very depressed old folks living inside them.

This was the point I was trying to make replying to the poster that said “just move on like everyone else”
Those of us that want to see our family can’t move on, we were waiting for phase 3 with hopes of being able to visit again, or at least have some of the restrictions lessened so that maybe we could drop off a decent meal
I don’t give a shite about going to a bar or restaurant, I want to see my Grandpa & see for myself he’s ok

Numerous bars that are not college bars have been packed every weekend both in BR and just outside in surrounding areas.

L'Auberge had people shoulder to shoulder at slot machines last weekend, even if every other slot was closed.

When I've gone to eat in restaurants, there's plenty of 60+ folks in them eating.
