I don't blame them for asking for it. There should always be a 3rd party professional on hand. We've watched stupidity by trainers before.

It's usually the first thing programs do in changing protocols when a player dies. There's nothing weird.
Kelly's players have been highly critical of him. 63 left the program during his first two years.
Kelly also responded to criticism of UCLA's coaching with:

2) There are people like DJ Durkin in this world.
So while we don’t know details here, I’m willing to give the players the benefit of the doubt if they feel like they need to look out for their own safety.
