Regardless the reason he was on parole, driving while intoxicated and resisting arrest/assaulting an officer was likely to revoke that parole and he was going to be serving out the remainder of his sentence and have a few other serious charges to boot. That's a clue as to why he was fighting so hard not to be arrested.

Right! How the frick is someone supposed to do that!? I know I couldnt.
Right?
It's not a popular take, (and you and I both know some good cops so I'm not disparaging the profession), but you can't give people a bare minimum salary to make life and death decisions and expect to bat a thousand.
We have a lot of shitty cops and teachers because we have made it a job that is very unattractive for a lot of capable people.
I'd wager the same people who hate police would be vehemently opposed to paying cops more money and upping the standard of the profession.

It doesn't fricking matter.
They are going to use this as more reason to riot.
He could have ran because he just murdered someone and it would not matter.
They do not fricking care.

If I’m a cop and a criminal tries to grab my taser and could stun me allowing him to grab my gun then yes I’m definitely shooting.
Exactly. The fact that some people don’t understand this is frightening and goes to show you the state of mine these extreme left wackos are

Exactly, getting tazed by him is simply step 1, step 2 is while I'm incapacitated he takes my own gun and kills me

you've never seen a cop chase after someone with a gun?
In a wide open parking lot at close range with no cover?
Not saying iT doesn’t happen but no I haven’t seen that

So what's your definition of handling it then? Should they have let him go? What happens if they chase him and he finds some way to kill the officers, whether it's thru the use of tasers or other lethal force? How would you explain the handling of it then?
Maybe don’t let him get away in the first place.
And yes if he gets away and is running, and you aren’t capable of catching him, you don’t shoot him.
IMO shooting someone should be strictly if you feel a life is in serious danger.A guy running away from you is not that.

He was running away. Away. Not at them. Look he was in the wrong, but to pretend like this guy was even remotely considering killing these cops is about as far as you can reach.

Exactly. And you think they are rioting NOW!!?? Please dont suggest upping their pay while you're out in public man!

Then he shouldn't have fought them and stole their taser, and then turned around and shot it at them. Don't resist, it's not fricking rocket science.

I dont understand how this is so hard for people to grasp....

Maybe a chokehold would have prevented him getting away there.

A ex convict shooting a taser at you as an armed police officer puts that officers life in danger.
How can you not see that?

I agree with all of that. I still don’t think a cop should be able to shoot someone running away.

You know me bro, I wanna tear it all down and start over, but I want to start with education.
To me it's like, who is more likely to frick up your order: the person at McDonald's or the person at Drago's?
Now, who is more likely to fricking murder your arse because you went for your glove box a little too quickly?

Again, it’s pretty obvious the guy was running away. I’ve seen the video.
I will never agree with fighting the police. Or running from them. Or trying to take their weapon. But I will also never agree with shooting someone who is running away. That shouldn’t be allowed.
I am fully on board with “don’t put yourself in these positions” line of thinking that is popular on this board. Common sense goes a long way. But I don’t think in this particular scenario they needed to gun him down. Not based off of what I’ve seen.

You should let that hate in your heart go, and take a look in the mirror every so often. Your lack of self awareness is glaring. I will pray for you
