Agree 100% and said the same thing the other day. I know he is a talking head and they get some slack especially since this is Dicks MO and he is a loudmouth anyway but at some point you have to draw a line in the sand.
Especially if kids and other media outlets start listening and paying attention to said loudmouth.

1) I’m not sure anything Vitale said falls under the legal standard for libel.
2) I am 100% sure you don’t want your Athletic Director lowering himself to get into some silly war with an 80-year-old dinosaur.

That will never happen. That would lead to depositions where you have to tell the truth or go to jail. I can imagine some of the questions. “How much did you pay Smart?” “Was it more than LSU paid Chase?”

I really believe vitale is just trolling people at this point. Nobody with a functioning brain can possibly be such a blatant hypocrite and unwilling to discuss the known facts....yet he’s perfectly willing to speculate about what vague language meant.
I get the trolls on the board who post 500 times a week and know everything about everything doing it bc this place is all they have and they love the attention but seriously a guy working for national media outlets like espn/abc should be above it.

The only outcome of that would be that someone will try hard to prove that LSU cheated. Thats how defamation lawsuits are handled. The Truth is the whole case. Thats not good for LSU Basketball.

The discovery in that case would be horrible for LSU. A defense of libel is "truth," so they would have a right to go digging for truth, including WW's emails and voicemails. Better to just make DV sound crazy in the media.
