What did she do? Or what did she NOT do?

i mean, no way it was a race thing. She's not white.

Probably stumbled on something they wanted to keep quiet

Never be too sure. Asians are considered white when being white is a bad thing. Asians aren’t immune from cancel culture.

Wtf ? Kiran is the only actual journalist they have over there. Merriweather has inexplicably become a cheerleader and Scotty is just an affable news reader. Good dudes, but definitely not journalists.

I know she was banned from going after BRPD's Chief Murphy Paul.

Just a theory, but IIRC, she was very involved and remained involved in covering the families of the police officers that were killed/wounded in 2016. Perhaps doing so made her grow close to the families in their difficult aftermath and seeing basically a repeat of 2016 prompted her to say something that "wasn't acceptable" by the social media mob.

BRPD's Chief Murphy Paul for making him look like a fool.
Doesn't take very much to accomplish that with him or SWB.

Had to be about the Hammond stuff, that was the last thing she covered

Media departures are always strange. Even in cordial departures, they don't announce it and one day the reporter will just be gone and appear at a new station.

I always enjoyed the WAFB news promo ad where she's standing there with her microphone held out and the guy says "Please LEAVE..." and shuts the door in her face. Made me chuckle every time.

seems like she was on the same side as most.

"That was inappropriate. It's not standard. It was a gross departure from procedure. It's made worse by other officers standing by. I don't know if new standards have to be developed. People need to be trained on the standards we do have." #deathofgeorgefloyd

Gov on #deathofgeorgefloyd : "The behavior was egregious. I don't think any reputable member of society or law enforcement would find his actions were acceptable."

She did fantastic stories on Nick Tullier ...

If they’re looking for a woman to replace her they can give her spot to Jim Engster.

99% of people agree with all that. That’s nothing controversial in the least.

WTF did she do? She is a good journalist and if WAFB fired her, they let one get away and one of their competitors will scoop her up quickly.
Good for whoever hires her next and shame on you, WAFB.

She’s a great investigative reporter. Pretty well known that Mayor Broome and the police chief hated her since she was the only reporter in Baton Rouge who’d call them out on things.
