We all do it in our daily lives. We say things we don’t believe or don’t want to in order to make things more pleasant. Or to fit in. Or to avoid controversy.

None of you have had the full weight of the modern Nazi Party, the Twitter Mob/Media blasting you. None of you have had your entire livelihood on the verge of destruction by evil forces. The president talking about you. National media calling you the most despicable thing in this society you can be.

Your children’s lives ready to be destroyed as well. A Scarlett letter put on them.

You can all talk your big game. But none of you know. And you would all crumble too.

You’d do what you have to.

I don’t blame the man at all. Step back. Get out of your feelings. Have some empathy.

He’s our guy. He’s my guy. I’ll ignore all this and support him.

We all do what we have to.

I still like Drew. I think he had a chance to handle this better, but he didn’t. And now, he is looking cringe. But I get it

But Payton and his teammates, they cut me deep fam, deep

Couple of things:
He doesn’t need to work, so he has more freedom from repercussions than most.
He expressed strong deep beliefs on this topic.

Most people in THAT situation would tell people to kiss their arse. You would know that if you hung around retired people.

Drew is a coward. And seems like you are trending that way.

Disagree. I’ve been through some public trials. I didn’t totally abandon my “core principles” within 72 hours.

Of course I didn’t have a team of PR consultants around me telling me that getting “woke” was the only solution either. It was just me and my gut and my balls.

Ah yeah...the sentiment you disagree with is obviously not genuine.

Wouldn’t fold like that. Especially considering that he doesn’t need to work. He doesn’t need to live in NO. He did his apology to at least get some people to not want him dead. He didn’t have to respond to Trump. He fricked up. Plain and simple. Principles matter. Without them you are no better than the next POS looking for opportunity.

I don’t. Of course, I am firm in my convictions and I hold no racist or psychotic positions. I have lost friends because I refused to change who I am or because I always speak my mind.

America is the most free most open most prosperous most fluid country on planet earth and every man should be judged by the content of his character and not the color of his skin. The constitution and its protections are sacred and apply to all citizens of this country. The government should be limited and freedom has consequences.

I absolutely acknowledge that America has had a rough past. But that past is full of men dieing for what they believe in and fighting for freedom and equality. We cannot sacrifice our present because of the sins of our past. To do so is to destroy all the men who came before us fought for.

History should not be erased or forgotten. It should be taught and learned from. And the principles America was founded on should not be upended.

Plenty of us are not hypocrites. And plenty of us do not accept hypocrisy.

The world is a tough place. It’s hard. Life is hard.

Staying married and raising children and working a job and getting an education is hard. It’s work and it isn’t fun a lot of the time.

It’s not supposed to be easy. And it never will be.

We should stop lieing to and coddling these pathetic children.

My life isn’t great because I have privilege or because things were given to me. It’s because I grew up with two parents who loved me and worked their asses off every day to provide for me and my siblings. It’s because my dad worked 12 hours a day and went to night school and still made time to help me with my homework.

My kids life isn’t great because they’re white and so society just hands them shite. It’s because both my wife and I work 60 hours a week to provide for our family and we only are allowed to keep about half of what we make.

If you don’t like your position in life in America in 2020 look within yourself and make a change.

You may not be able to live the dream life you desire, but you can work your arse off every day to leave a better life to your children than the one you were born into. That’s called being a good parent and a good citizen.

Demanding a better life for yourself now at the expense of others without putting in the work yourself is called being an ignorant selfish pathetic waste.

Good luck to anyone crying for a handout or complaining about how tough it is to work a job. Life is hard. But it doesn’t have to be miserable. Buckle down and work or be cast aside.

You are wrong. Trump has the majority of the planet hating him. All the major media outlets, tv, newspaper, social media etc., you name it. They are on his arse every second of the day. I think most of this was created because they are scared to death he will win again.

But yet, the man refuses to buckle. He will not give an inch and it’s driving the libertards absolutely crazy. Brees is Nothing more than a pube on Trumps sack.....

This is so fricking stupid. Republicans without a thought voted in a guy that has all the traits of Hitler or whatever dictator you want to talk about. Most of the world understands this.

People like you only say shite like this over a political disagreement. If this country ever has a Nazi situation in its future, it 100% will be white Republicans grabbing their guns to eradicate anyone who isn’t white.

Let’s be real here, y’all motherfrickers sit around waiting for shite to pop off to have any reason to take out people of color, or just Democrats in general. The leader of our country thinks “the only good Democrat is a dead democrat”.

Wanting to get rid of people who aren’t like you or disagree with you, that’s fricking Nazi or fascist shite. That is the ideology of Trump Republicans. Moderates and liberals just want y’all to stop the fricking hate.

I don't blame him for apologizing, I am disappointed that he did it. But I get why he did it. Me personally I wouldn't have. He didn't say anything wrong and I agree with every word he said. If I were in the same situation I would not apologize. That is just the type of person I am. I don't go out of my way to offend or hurt anyone. But at the same time if you ask my opinion on something like this I likely know how you feel. I warn ppl ahead of time. I ask them if they are sure they want my opinion because they may not like it. If they still say yes, then I give it to them and I will not apologize for it.

This is the part that people don't realize, because, when the USA goes Hard Left, and it will eventually and definitely go "hard Left", Drew Brees's kids will still be around trying to make it in this Brave New World. If Drew doesn't cave now and apologize as continuously as a cloistered monk says prayers, his kids ARE marked forever with the scarlet letter "R", for Racist.

Drew Brees had no choice. The gun was to, not only HIS head, but, also pointed at his family's head.

When the rounds are popping off all around you and you can't see where it's coming from and you find yourself all alone on point -- discretion is the better part of valor.

Cheers to you, Drew. You realized in the nick of time that the world that your grandfather fought for is no longer in existence. Bow down and submit -- or ELSE.

Brees had the ultimate leverage in this situation. Aside from this final year, his career is already over and he has accomplished almost EVERYTHING he could. Greatest and most important player in Saints history. 1st ballot HOFer. Holder of numerous career records for a QB. World Champion. Even if Brees never takes another NFL snap, he is OBJECTIVELY one of the greatest QB's to ever play the game. That is already done. From a financial standpoint, he has earned enough money to provide financial security for he and his family for life. No doubt another several million from the 2020 salary would be nice. But it is not an absolute necessity for he and his family to have financial security.

He can walk away RIGHT NOW and none of the above changes. He didn't have to be concerned about money. Or missing the HOF. Or sacrificing his NFL career that was all but over anyway.

For the average person, standing up for your beliefs would probably entail significant risks. I might believe this or that. But if standing firm on that belief puts my family at risk I may have to swallow my pride for the greater benefit of others who rely on me. Brees didn't have that worry, and he could have struck a blow for reason and against authoritarianism (which is EXACTLY what this is. "Either you believe the "right" thing or we will cancel you")

Drew Brees is behaving in a very desperate way.

His statement to the President appears to have been written for him.

I hope his family has not been leveraged in a way that would horrify the parents on this board.
