Are there any concrete ideas to prevent police brutality in any of this?

Watching brief news snippets where they give these black politicians and activists any amount of air time, they all use a lot of words to say absolutely nothing at all.
I've heard vague "suggestions" like deescalation training. . . This is already a training point. A big one actually. Just because you train it doesn't mean an officer will utilize it properly. . . 100% of the time. They're human. Most of these critics have invested no time at all in understanding what training police officers receive.
"Stop killing black people". This one is especially entertaining because they assume that officers are killing innocent blacks minding their own business. It's also one of the most one sided suggestions. I'm sure the police's suggestion is for black people to not commit crimes and resist when they're caught.
All of the suggestions are action items for the police side and no accountability on the criminals side.
There's no real argument justifying Chauvin murdering the guy, but he had every right to get him in cuffs by the means he used. The limitation of that force ended once he was cuffed. He definitely should have put the child locks on the doors and put him in the car.
It is absolutely insane that one rogue officer made a terrible decision and they're ready to burn the country down over it. This is far from a regular occurrence in the days of cameras being everywhere.
These activists would benefit themselves exponentially if they would get past the knee jerk comments and lay some concrete constructive suggestions at the Chief of Police's feet. They never seem to get there.

There “solution” would be never to arrest or confront black people again.

You actually are not wrong.
There is an actual movement to "not call police on black people".

Looks like they are accomplishing this.

There’s not much more you can do... All statistics show a drop in this over the past 3yrs or so.
You’re always going to have bad apples that ruin it for everyone.

1) End no-knock raids.
2) Move police liability insurance to the police budget and make it part of a package of funding.
3) Disincentive municipalities and counties to use ticket/court revenue as funding mechanisms.
4) State-level prosecutor to investigate and prosecute police use-of-force.

Now what bad things could possibly happen to a neighborhood where neighbors quit calling the cops and let the gangs and thugs take over?

Wasn't he cuffed before he ever put his knee on his neck?

Yes
But none of them are possible because in order to even talk about them, you first have to recognize that it isn't a race problem.

My old man always said the guy that throws the second punch always gets the blame. For every action, there is a reaction. And it always takes two to tango. Don't give the police a reason to react.

Your thread title poses a very good question, and then you touch on the topic of "training."
My military experience inspires me to say that "more training" is the answer.
How do we get "more training" for our civilian police forces? That's the topic for another thread.
What's NOT the answer? Using collective guilt as a reason to support wanton rage, burning, stealing and killing. Why is it not the answer? Because that kind of behavior will hasten the decline and fall of the United States of America; THAT kind of behavior will cause OUR civilization to become a wasteland ruled by uncivilized gangs.

A must is for them to 'police' themselves. One or two or three can't stand around watching another doing something they know is illegal.

I have a simple proposal:

Getting rid of police unions would be a great start. They are half the problem.

The fundamental issue is one of how individuals act and behave. There are bad people in every profession. Humans are not infallible and are imperfect beings, and with that bad things can and will happen. It sucks, but that is the truth. The natural response should not be to burn and loot cities because we will never live in a perfect world where bad things don’t happen.

I mean. It's another thread, but I honestly don't even comprehend the concept of a public sector union.
