What? Surely you realize that the reason people with COVID get pneumonia, is almost assuredly because of COVID right? COVID is respiratory tract infection afterall.

Pneumonia isn’t seasonal.

That's what would scare me about this virus; it's not terrible if you're healthy......unless you get Pneumonia, then all hell breaks loose. I used to get hospitalized with Pneumonia every year as a child (up to 3.5 months at a time). Whenever I had abdominal surgery, Pneumonia often followed. I know that I had other issues, but Pneumonia makes everything worse.

It’s not a seasonal disease but it has seasonal variation (most common in winter; least common in summer) because some of the most common causes of pneumonia tend to be seasonal.

Friend of mine had a test done a couple weeks ago. It took nearly a week for his results to come back

I had an employee get injured. Doc wanted him tested for Covid-19 before treating non life threatening injury.

Employee had test done 2 days before injury. Got results. Negative. Went for Dr ordered test. Positive. Went for 3rd test because wtf. Negative. Went for 4th test because seriously wtf. Positive.

That's really hard to believe

I was tested in early April, came back negative but symptonms were classic. Doc told me to treat it like it was and quarantine.

At its base what she was trying to do wasn't that bad of an idea. Trying to only charge for the tests needed is pretty inventive. It's just that a finger prick is a thousand times more painful than draining from your arm

He was tested last week for corona after testing negative for everything else and today the doctor called to tell him he doesn’t have coronavirus, just pneumonia.
I hope they don't call him back next week and let him know it's not pneumonia, just full blown aids.

So 4 test, 2 positive, 2 negative. So does Louisiana report that as 2 positive cases for one person.

Same here. Had all the symptoms, but test came back negative. Ms. FCP read something that said the test was only accurate at a rate around 60%, so I slept it off for a couple of days, then loaded up on painkillers and went back to work.

Thought about getting one of those antibody tests, but those have an even worse rate of false negative/positive results.

It's 100% true. I should get results from the 5th test by Friday.

The test sucks. Watched a pathologist talk about the test. His advice was, if you ever test positive, then you are positive. If you test negative, you may or may not be negative. Negative in reality is just an inconclusive result.
