What idiot had the brilliant idea of removing one of the two left turn lanes onto Government from Jefferson, just so extensive sidewalks can be added? Who they hell walks in that area anyway? Traffic will be terrible once everything is open and back to normal. Thanks a lot, Sharron.

Because the idiots are reducing Government Street down to 2 lanes both ways?

Government St will eventually just be 2 lanes with a median in that stretch. I’m failing to see the problem.

A lot of people walk around there, but the whole road diet plan is idiotic

Road diet is such a waste of money and will make it all worse.

That area has a tiny, extremely vocal faction of simpletons with an astounding inability to foresee any unintended consequence of this idiotic plan.

They'll probably just have to widen Lobdell all the way through to Florida.

Government is more of a neighborhood area.

The locals don't want you driving through their neighborhood...unless you are shopping or eating on Government.

Imagine being the dumbass that came up with the plan to REDUCE the numbers of lanes of a road.

the idea is to force thru traffic on government to Florida - theoretically, especially with all the new business on government, it sounds like it could be a good for Mid-City but I'm worried traffic will kill all the perceived benefits - traffic on government and florida usually isn't terrible compared to other parts of BR but if this plan changes that it'll be pretty damn annoying

It’ll be two lanes when it’s done from Jefferson IIRC.

Where Jefferson connects to government west to Foster will remain 4 lanes. It may also remain 4 lanes East to Ardenwood.

Correct. I think the one left turn from Jefferson onto Government is just temporary while they’re re-curbing the intersection.

I’m actually pumped about the roundabout at lobdell and Government. That intersection is made for one. The light cycle there is terrible.

Will be curious to see how people take to the that roundabout. I got used to them while in Lafayette. I’m a fan of them.
