China preparing for second wave or outbreak already happening? Seizing PPE factories

China’s Communist Party is again seizing factory lines churning out the world’s supply of medical safety gear — sparking fears the country is preparing for a second wave of the coronavirus, American traders in China told The Post.
New Yorker Moshe Malamud, who has done business in China for over two decades, was moving tens of millions of pieces of protective gear to the U.S. at the height of the crisis but said suppliers in recent weeks had been overwhelmed with orders from the Chinese government.
“I was placing a larger order with one of the bigger distributors and he tells me, ‘I can complete this order but after this we’ve been contracted by the Chinese government to produce 250 million gowns,'” said Malamud, who lived in China for a decade before founding aviation company M2Jets. He said he heard a similar story about another manufacturer making thermometers. “We hear how China is up and running and the virus is past them, so I asked, ‘What are they ordering 250 million gowns for?’ and of course no one is talking.”

Political ploy to scare the rest of the world.

I am going with the safe bet here... China has us on the ropes and they will create havoc when there is none...

But IB seems to believe that we should be thanking China for taking over manufacturing formerly located in the USA.

I’m hearing a delayed first wave.
Wuhan and some areas already got hit but now different provinces are getting it hard.

Agree, but in the end, I don’t think this impacts us at all. We are past the point of mass outbreaks and shutdowns.

Nuh Uh!!!! It’s a second wave! We have to stay locked down until there is a vaccine we can forcibly give every single person to avoid the 99.5% of surviving this deadly, deadly, historically deadly disease. Did I telL you it’s deadly!?!?!?

this is why the people shrieking about finding a cure/vaccine are just off. as soon as you lift restrictions, there will be spread. as long as one area with any sort of sizeable population faces, spread, the world faces spread b/c that spread easily passes borders.
you cannot. fricking. stop it.
shifting our philosophy from mitigation efforts like flattening the curve (to protect healthcare capacity) to elimination efforts (and the shift was silent, i might add) was insane, especially considering we have no plan to have a functioning society along with elimination efforts. we can do it with mitigation, but not elimination.

Unless the media can whip up enough hysteria to get the Karen's riled back up and some key governors scared of reopening...
I still think with the media backing them, some governors and mayors will fight to keep things choked down...

Here’s one thing most people don’t understand about Asian cities in general: they are fricking huge. People think New York is huge, but it is #41 in most populated cities in the world. LA is #101 and Chicago is #171. Americans refuse to be packed like sardines in the way they are, which of course makes the virus spread that much more quickly in Asian cities.

We also don’t have people crammed in like sardines.
Worst corridor for density is DC to Boston and none of those cities hold a candle to the size of the ones affected in China.

Covid-19 was just a dry run. They are about to cook up the main course in their labs.

Further example, when this outbreak started there was a thread asking “Who the hell knew Wuhan was even a city?” As it’s larger than NYC I believe and not even top 10 in China if I remember correctly.

It's more than just PPE requisition. They've put a region of 100 million people under lockdown again.

Some 108 million people in China’s northeast region are being plunged back under lockdown conditions as a new and growing cluster of infections causes a backslide in the nation’s return to normal.
In an abrupt reversal of the re-opening taking place across the nation, cities in Jilin province have cut off trains and buses, shut schools and quarantined tens of thousands of people. The strict measures have dismayed many residents who had thought the worst of the nation’s epidemic was over.

This is the reason the west is all in on villainizing communism. The problems with communism are real enough, they do not need embellishment, but that is what the western economies must do because they can't compete with Chinese style communism.....they aren't seizing factory lines....they are merely insisting that their order be filled first. The ChiComs do not want the factory lines...those things are like owning real estate, you don't really own them they own you....the ChiComs understand they know squat about making PPE for export...but there are people in China who do know something about it and so they "allow" those people to exploit poor people and the environment with manufacturer and employer friendly regulations, or no regulations, and export and make as much money as possible with the understanding that the needs of the ChiComs are at the top of the list....when the Chicoms need medical masks the chines mask manufacturers are going to fill those orders first with no regard to what world markets dictate. This is the fundamental difference that does not set well with the west....that the needs of the home nation is more important than the wealth of the individual. Of course there is no doubt that the personal wealth of Chinese government officials is even more important than the health of the nation overall because that is simple human nature.....but power brokers in the west will never tolerate their production being use to fill home nation orders first regardless of price on the free market because the free market is more important in the west than the west is....
